Dane Giraud is a screenwriter, filmmaker, comedian, and free speech advocate, best known as the creator of the hit satirical mockumentary series Find Me a Māori Bride. South Auckland-raised (New Zealand), he began his career as a professional guitarist in a punk band before training as an actor and transitioning into writing and directing. His credits include co-writing and starring in the award-winning digital feature The Waiting Place, directing the drama Luella Miller, and scripting episodes for shows like Shortland Street, Jimi's World, and various documentaries. A council member of the Free Speech Union, he currently hosts their podcast Free to Speak and shares sharp insights on culture, politics, and art via his Substack The Many Ways I Let You Down.
