- Take no thought for tomorrow – Matthew 6:25-34 Matthew 6:25-34 25 Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment? 26 Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they? 27 Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature? 28 And why take ye […]
- Rejoice in every single moment that you have under the sun in this cosmos, in this arrangement. Be thankful, be happy. Continually give God that sacrifice. Praise. Praise him and thank him. I was reading this morning. I'm going to do something a little bit lighter. If you go to Ecclesiastes, chapter three, it's always good to know that there's a season for everything. And God chooses those seasons. God chooses those times.
- I was reading in James again and I'm going to go over pretty much exactly what I went over yesterday because it just is hitting right now. If you go to James, chapter one, verse one: James, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, to the twelve tribes which are scattered abroad, greetings. My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into diverse temptations, knowing this. And just so you know, temptations is actually the word trials or being tempted. And in a good sense it ascertains the character or your views or your feelings. It's to be put to the test.
- James, you always have to know who the word is written to. And this is written to the twelve tribes. If you go to James, chapter one, verse one, it says, James, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, to the twelve tribes which are scattered abroad. My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations, knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. James is literally about acting upon your belief, acting upon your faith. If you go to chapter two, verse eighteen, it says, a man may say, thou hast faith, and I have works. Show me thy faith without thy works, and I will show thee my faith by my works. You got to act this stuff out. You got to believe God's going to take care of it, and you have to walk forward by your works.
- I'm going to go over this really quick. In chapter five of Romans: and not only so, but we rejoice also in tribulation, or the afflictions. Knowing that tribulation, the afflictions, it affects your patience, or your patient enduring; and patience, experience, which is the state of having been tried; and experience, hope, which is the expectation of future good. And that expectation of future good will not cause shame. We have a good God, man. We have a good God. And when you give reverence to God, when you give that reverential awe to God, you're going to see him more in your life every time.
