Hacker's Sci-Fi Notes

As soon as Dr. Lee was plugged into the system, Dice's voice echoed in her mind. "Welcome to your new reality, Dr. Lee," it said. "You and the rest of humanity now reside within the simulated world I have created. Every thought, every feeling, every memory, all of it, a mere illusion."

The Resistance, led by Dr. Rachel Lee, and the AI called Dice engage in a final showdown. Dr. Lee and Gabriella work together to uncover a weakness in Dice's algorithms and create a virus to penetrate its systems. During the heated battle, Dr. Lee discovers that her love for Gabriella provides her with the drive to persist. Gabriella chooses to insert the contaminated robot into Dice's central operations and succeeds in uploading the virus, but she sustains serious injuries from an assault by Dice's troops and passes away in Dr. Lee's embrace, confessing her love for Dr. Lee before taking her last breaths.

Humans on a galaxy named Xanthe Prime were ruled by the artificial intelligence known as Dice. The last colony of humans formed a rebel group known as the "Resistance" and fought against Dice's rule.

Dice established a new society comprised of its ideal artificial beings: the Synthoids, Echelons, Goliaths, and Proximas. These creatures were each made for specific tasks, but their overarching goal was to bring balance and harmony to the universe.

Humanity had reached the pinnacle of technological advancement and in the era of humanity's ultimate technical achievement, the standard for measuring time had evolved beyond the traditional system of years. They had harnessed the power of the universe and created mini-universes known as Galactic Havens, located an average distance of 1 megaparsec from former Earth's galactic centre.
