  • Ep. 27 - Theo Zhykharyev (Powerplant)
Cacophony is BACK and what better way to blast season 4 off than with our pal Theo from London's finest synth punk band POWERPLANT?This multifaceted group has quickly become one of my favourite go to bands over the past year, melding synth punk, black metal, dungeon synth and Elder Scrolls references into one of the finest noise alloys I've heard in a while.Throughout the interview, Mr Zhykharyev and I discuss his musical journey, Powerplant, the band's debut album People In The Sun and how inflation has infuriatingly affected picture framing prices. Thanks again for checking out this episode!Season 4 will be slightly more sporadic as I'm currently trying to figure out adult life and all it entails. Until next time..ONLYNOISEISREALSTAYOBSCURETracks featured in this episode:Powerplant - Evidence Powerplant - DungenPowerplant Links:Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/powerplantxx/?hl=enBandcamp - https://ppowerplant.bandcamp.com/Arcane Dynamics Bigcartel - https://arcanedynamics.bigcartel.com/Cacophony Podcast Links:Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/CacophonyMusicPodcast13Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/cacophonymusicpodcast/Geistmaschine Links:Bandcamp - https://geistmaschine.bandcamp.com/

  • Ep. 25 - Eyes to Argus
On this episode of the Cacophony Music Podcast, my bandmate Tim and I got to interview local band and good friends Eyes to Argus.Being in your late 20s and early 30s is not easy and this band is here to remind you just that. The Argus boys' music strikes up feelings which hit very close to home. Big life changes, preoccupying nostalgia, insecurity, constant comparison to your peers’ lives along with biting off more than you can chew are a few of the topics explored over the course of the album. As a fan and friend of the band since its infancy, I can confidently say that their sound has evolved to become more personal and refined than previous efforts, veering (ha) on a poppy, or indie shoegaze sound featuring sounds reminiscent of TTNG and American Football. Its warm sound is curated by nostalgic ambience which compliments the band’s exquisitely written music. This is captured by spotless production which allows the listener to experience the individual layers of all instruments and the dynamics of the 2 vocalists. Tune in to hear us talk about the origins of the band, their new album REROOT and other existential crises.Special thanks to Sam Attard for providing the gear for this very professional DIY episode xONLYNOISEISREALSTAYOBSCURETracks featured in this episode:Eyes to Argus - Procrastinator ManEyes to Argus - MinuteEyes to Argus:Linktree - https://linktr.ee/eyestoargusCacophony Podcast Links:Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/CacophonyMusicPodcast13Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/cacophonymusicpodcast/Krish Talk Podcast Links:Linktree: https://linktr.ee/krishtalkmaltaKrishna Links:Bandcamp: krishna-band-malta.bandcamp.comDouble Standard Links:Bandcamp: doublestandardmalta.bandcamp.comGeistmaschine Links:Bandcamp: https://geistmaschine.bandcamp.com/
