They aren't just talking about replacing institutions anymore. They're building alternatives.
In part two of Fortean Winds' investigation into the Cadre and Cathedral, RamX and Bones follow the network-state movement from Silicon Valley theory into physical territory.
The idea is called “cloud first, land later.”
Build the ideology online. Assemble a wealthy and committed community. Coordinate economically. Acquire territory across existing countries. And eventually seek recognition as something approaching a new state.
This episode traces that idea through Balaji Srinivasan's The Network State, Patri Friedman's Seasteading movement and Pronomos Capital, Honduras' Próspera, Praxis, and the Network School experiment that moved from Malaysia to Kazakhstan after Malaysian regulators revoked its license.
But the deeper the investigation goes, the stranger the project becomes.
Religion isn't merely appearing alongside the network-state movement. Some of its advocates explicitly recognize shared faith and moral commitment as technologies for creating communities strong enough to survive where purely economic relationships fail.
And beneath the promise of escaping governments lies a fundamental contradiction:
Network states still need states.
They need land. Courts. Visas. Property rights. Security. Infrastructure. And ultimately, governments willing to surrender or delegate pieces of their own sovereignty.
What begins as an attempt to exit the nation-state may actually be something more practical:
A search for nations willing to sell themselves in pieces.
Part two of our three-part investigation.

In Dark Territory, we asked what happens when the signals go out—when institutions lose credibility, certainty disappears, and the only thing left is the method.
Now we follow the tracks.
In this episode, RamX and Bones examine a specific faction of the ultra-wealthy technology class and ask a simple question: What do they actually want to build?
Starting with the extraordinary concentration of wealth during the pandemic, Fortean Winds traces the ideas moving through the network around Peter Thiel, Curtis Yarvin, Marc Andreessen and others: the "Cathedral," counter-elites, corporate sovereignty, network states, charter cities and Yarvin's proposed "honeycomb of cadres" prepared to step in when existing institutions fail.
Then it gets stranger.
Private networks connect money, technology, defense and political power—while increasingly theological language begins appearing around the project. Peter Thiel lectures on the Antichrist. Technology becomes entangled with prophecy. Political and economic ideas acquire the language of cosmic struggle.
The pattern Fortean Winds finds is remarkably simple:
Wealth → Ideology → Myth.
This isn't about trading one authority for another.
It's about staying in Dark Territory long enough to see what's actually being built.

What do you do when the signals disappear?
Railroad crews call it dark territory—stretches of track with no signals, no dispatcher, and no easy answers. The train still moves. The rules simply change.
In this episode of Fortean Winds, RamX and Bones explain why they aren't walking away from difficult investigations, even as many prominent voices publicly question their own judgment and step back from the search.
The discussion then turns to the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie and the recently released ransom notes that have drawn national attention. Using forensic linguistics, evidentiary tiering, and behavioral analysis, RamX demonstrates how the same investigative framework developed for UAP research can be applied to a real criminal investigation.
This isn't about solving the case.
It's about showing how disciplined analysis works when certainty is impossible.
When the signals stop...
The method becomes the map.

What happens when artificial intelligence is used to study the phenomenon instead of simply talking about it?
After months of requests from listeners, RamX sits down for an unscripted conversation about the AI research behind Fortean Winds.
From the AI Grimoire Analysis and the Enochian Watcher Project to unexpected conversations, pattern recognition, consciousness, and the limits of artificial intelligence, this episode explores what happened when modern AI was applied to centuries of occult literature and anomalous research.
This isn't a discussion about AI hype or the future of technology. It's a behind-the-scenes look at the experiments that influenced several Fortean Winds investigations and the questions they raised about intelligence, perception, and the phenomenon itself.
Topics include:
AI Grimoire Analysis
The Enochian Watcher Project
Pattern recognition and occult texts
Artificial intelligence and consciousness
AI hallucinations vs. genuine insights
The role of AI in anomalous research
Lessons learned from the experiment
If you've ever wondered how AI became part of the Fortean Winds research process, this is the episode.

What if UFO encounters, near-death experiences, mystical visions, shamanic journeys, and DMT experiences aren't separate phenomena at all?
What if they're describing the same underlying architecture?
In this episode of Fortean Winds, RamX presents the findings from an original comparative research paper examining thousands of encounter reports spanning centuries of human history.
Drawing on peer-reviewed research, historical accounts, UFO case literature, neuroscience, religious experience, and clinical studies of DMT, this episode explores an unexpected convergence across independent traditions.
Despite differences in culture, belief, geography, and historical era, witnesses consistently report:
• autonomous intelligences
• direct thought-to-thought communication
• environments described as "more real than reality"
• profound personal transformation
• encounters that permanently alter worldview
Rather than arguing for a single explanation, Fortean Winds asks a simpler—and perhaps more important—question:
Why do independent experiences produce the same structure?
This episode explores what RamX calls The Encounter Architecture—a recurring pattern that appears across UFO encounters, near-death experiences, mystical states, folklore, and DMT research.
If the similarities are real...
What are they actually pointing toward?

About Fortean Winds
An exploration of the UAP - UFO phenomenon and the associated "high strangeness" which accompanies it from the standpoint of analysts and researchers. Fortean Winds is a collective of data and research professionals who began a project in 2020 to better understand the UFO/UAP phenomenon from the perspective of existing research and evidence. After a few years study and note taking (which you can see at our website https://www.forteanwinds.com) , we're ready to discuss our notes and insights involving the UFO phenomenon.
