One more special supplemental episode tied to the season 4 premiere of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds. This time Tony and Laurie welcome back Chris Fisher, who directed episode 401 (“Valles Marineris”) and is an executive producer and the show’s producing director, based in Toronto. We talk extensively about the challenges and nuances of the series premiere and jump into discussing the rest of the season, season 5, and his upcoming book about virtual production.

Star Trek: Strange New Worlds is back and so are Anthony and Laurie! They review the season 4 premiere, “Valles Marineris,” which is a good old-fashioned Star Trek story with new character arcs beginning and impressive visual effects. Tony and Laurie are back! This supplementary edition of the All Access Star Trek podcast features interviews from the recent Star Trek: Strange New Worlds junket, where Tony participated in roundtable interviews with the show’s stars (along with other outlets). The first one is with Anson Mount (Pike), Rebecca Romijn (Number One), and Carol Kane (Pelia), and the second is with Christina Chong (La’an), Ethan Peck (Spock), and Paul Wesley (James Kirk). Anthony and Laurie talk about the cast’s answers and give a bit of a preview of upcoming episodes of the podcast. Strange New Worlds season 4 premieres Thursday, July 23, and we’ll be back on the 24th with a full review of the first episode.

This week All Access Star Trek has a shorter supplemental episode. Laurie is traveling, so Anthony takes this one solo to give listeners an idea of what is coming as we head into the fourth season of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, which debuts next Thursday, July 23rd. This week also includes audio from interviews with writer/co-executive producer Bill Wolkoff and actress Melissa Navia (Ortegas), conducted at the Hollywood Climate Summit, where they both talked about environmental connections to Trek as well as SNW season 4 (and 5). Tony also briefly covers the latest news, including an update on the Paramount/WBD merger going to court, some new Star Trek merch, and some SNW S4 preview updates along with what to expect for Star Trek at San Diego Comic-Con, which is also coming up next week. Laurie and Tony will be back together to discuss and review the season 4 premiere on Friday the 24th, and back each Friday after that for all ten episodes with some interviews along the way, which starts next week with episode 1 director Chris Fisher. Before that, Tony and Laurie will reunite for supplemental episode early next week to catch up and roll in audio from the Strange New Worlds season 4 junket cast interviews. See you then.

This week, we have a special supplemental podcast recorded live at Trek Long Island last weekend in Hauppauge, New York. TrekMovie’s All Access Star Trek co-host Laurie Ulster moderated the “Generations of Trek Women” panel on Saturday on the main stage to “revisit memories of Trek across different eras” and discuss “the evolution of the franchise and what it’s been like for women who performed in it.” The panel was packed with Star Trek guest stars, featuring Stephanie Czajkowski (Star Trek: Picard – T’Veen), Bonnie Gordon (Star Trek: Prodigy, USS Prodigy computer and other voices), Carolyn McCormick (Star Trek: The Next Generation – Minuet/Min) Musetta Vander (Star Trek: Voyager – Derran Tal), and Sachi Parker (Star Trek: The Next Generation – Dr. Tava).
