  • How Do We Justify Ourselves - Episode 111
Today’s Episode is titled “How Do We Justify Ourselves?” Covering Matthew 27:3-10, 11-14. The Gospel of Matthew is written for our Salvation. As we learned last week, Judas felt regret yet did not repent. In these verses, the chief priest sand elders felt no guilt or responsibility for their deliberate actions in plotting Jesus’s death though they acknowledged the 30 pieces of silver given to Judas was blood money. As with Judas and the chief priests, we often justify ourselves and cut God out of the process. God is the one who justifies us. May our regret and guilt lead to repentance. We also defend ourselves and talk too much to get others to understand. Jesus stood silent before Pilate offering no defense. May we follow Jesus’ example. Episode 111, recorded on 3/13/25 at St. Nicholas Orthodox Church in Grand Rapids, MI.

  • What is Repentance - Episode 110
Today's Episode is titled "What is Repentance?" Covering Matthew 27: 1-10, Judas' response to Jesus being brought to Plate to be killed is a cautionary tale for us. Judas was remorseful yet did not complete the process of forgiveness by going back to Jesus to be restored. He remained unrepentant. These verses are a warning to us to complete the process of forgiveness and not just be sorry. We're to seek restoration. Episode 110, recorded on 2/27/25 at St. Nicholas Orthodox Church in Grand Rapids, MI.
