The Interstitial: How We Become Free

    10/12/2025 | 15 mins.
On this short Interstitial episode, I riff on what’s been alive for me since my most recent conversations with Sophie Messager (on reclaiming drumming) and Ash Stinson (on embodiment and listening to the body). Jumping off from these dialogues, I'm holding a a central question here: How do we, as women, become truly free within systems that were never designed with us in mind?
    Key Points:
My own understanding of liberation in three parts - awakening, reckoning with inequities, and consciously choosing how to operate within toxic systems, including determining how and when to withdraw consent
What it means to awaken to the reality that most systems were built without the participation and input of women
The importance of taking time moving through the emotions that arise - but also moving on when ready
The tricky dance between participating in systems while you have to, while honestly assessing your available power to enact change

    Key Questions to Consider:
Am I waiting for permission to show up differently?
Am I waiting for it to feel easy or comfortable before I follow my truth?
Do I actually have more freedom and power than I’m giving myself credit for?

The Realms of Embodiment with Ash Stinson

    10/11/2025 | 57 mins.
The Realms of Embodiment with Ash Stinson
On this episode – which has been in the making for a long time – Ash Stinson and I explore the profound themes of the sacred feminine, embodiment, and the intricate layers of wisdom held within our bodies. Ash is an energy worker, a creator, a deep feeler and a deep thinker, a parent, and an expert on healing through the energy of your anatomy.
Ash's personal and professional life functionally revolves around one question: What gives us a sense of place? She studied and worked in Environmental Science, habitat preservation, and Landscape Architecture until her Saturn Return coupled with a twin pregnancy catapulted her into postpartum PTSD, and she finally got the cosmic memo – you can't create belonging in your backyard if you're lost in your own skin.
A decade of study, Reiki Master level certification, apprenticeship with her ancestors, and a certification in Integrative Somatic Trauma Therapy later, Energy Archaeology and the Realms of Embodiment were born. Ash now spends her days exploring the energetic anatomy and morphology of the body, from the bones, muscles, fluid systems, organs, nervous system, and DNA and translating it so you can understand your mythosomatic self and belonging within the wider energetic fabric of life.
We dive deep on this episode, exploring:
    · Ash’s own personal and spiritual background, including the traumatic experience of her own birth and how it ultimately prepared her for the work she does now
    · How the Realms of Embodiment – Ash’s current work – was born out of an initial exploration of Reiki following a challenging birth experience with her twins
    · The different areas of the Realms of Embodiment, and what each has to teach us
    · Why it’s not so simple to just “listen to your body”
    · The “yes-and” approach to embracing the wisdom of energy medicine and Western medicine
    · Ash’s simple, three-step process to begin listening to your own body

Picking Up the Drum with Sophie Messager

    21/10/2025 | 56 mins.
In this particularly rich conversation, I’m joined by Sophie Messager, author of the new book The Beat of Your Own Drum (Womancraft Publishing). A former reproductive physiologist with a PhD, Sophie traded her microscope for a medicine drum after experiencing the transformative power of an empowered birth. Her decade-long journey as a doula, birth educator, and author of Why Postnatal Recovery Matters deepened her exploration of the rhythms surrounding women’s transitions.
Now a holistic life transition mentor, Sophie guides women through significant life thresholds – from birth to perimenopause and beyond. Her unique combination of scientific expertise and spiritual insight allows her to serve as a compassionate space holder for those seeking to harmonise their analytical and intuitive selves.
    On this episode we explore:
The complex and intersecting themes of sacred feminine wisdom
The journey of reclaiming women's power, and the transformative role of drumming in spiritual practices
Sophie’s personal experiences from her Catholic upbringing to her journey as a doula and holistic life transition mentor
The historical context of women's roles in drumming and spirituality, and how reclaiming this practice can be an essential step for women in owning their voices and power in a patriarchal society.

    Key Takeaways
Sacred Feminine wisdom is applicable in all areas of life.
Understanding women's power from a feminine lens is crucial, and women’s sacred stories can help us do this.
Sophie fascinating journey from science to holistic practices, and how it demonstrates that we can hold space for both.
Drumming can be a powerful tool for women's empowerment.
While the history of women and drumming is often overlooked, it’s real – and your birthright to know about.
While women often feel scared to drum due to ancestral trauma, trusting yourself is the key to spiritual growth and personal evolution.
Creating your own drum can be a transformative experience – but you can also start with a storebought one. You don’t need lessons or a prescriptive path to start.

    The Interstitial: Magic and Purpose

    16/10/2025 | 12 mins.
Introducing The Interstitial: short episodes intended to explore the spaces in between the last episode and the next.
My latest conversation with Danielle Dulsky got me thinking about two things: magic and purpose. Here I consider the role of magic in our lives, as well as what it means to lean into our singular purpose during times of chaos and change.
    Key Takeaways:
Magic can empower us to co-create our lives.
We control the stories we tell about our experiences.
Reclaiming our relationship with magic is a deeply human and feminine act.
In chaotic times, focus on what is yours to do.
Purpose can manifest in various forms, not just one.
Living with care and presence is sufficient.
Our contributions are part of a larger narrative.
The divine feminine operates in deep time and rhythms.
Trusting our guidance is essential for personal growth.

Exploring the Night House with Danielle Dulsky

    08/10/2025 | 52 mins.
On this episode, I’m joined again by Danielle Dulsky, a prior Home to Her guest, as we explore the themes of women's wisdom, the significance of fairy tales, and the role of storytelling in shaping our understanding of the world. Danielle’s new book, The Night House: Folklore, Fairy Tales, Rites, and Magick for the Wise and Wild, serves as a focal point for our discussion, as we consider the connection between creativity, magic, and the feminine experience. We also talk about the hidden and sometimes subversive power within fairy tales, the importance of shadow work, and how these stories can help us navigate the complexities of modern life. We also talk about why Danielle believes we each have one important thing to do in this lifetime, and why it’s so important to protect our creative potential in these uncertain times. As Danielle says, “we need to get weirder.”
    Key Takeaways
    · Everything we know about power has been defined by cultural structures.
    · Women's wisdom and power have been minimized and pushed underground.
    · Fairy tales hold hidden wisdom and power for women.
    · The Night House explores the connection between fairy tales and women's experiences.
    · Stories can be a way to access and embody our full power.
    · The structure of The Night House reflects a journey through shadow and light.
    · Asking questions about stories reveals insights about our lives.
    · The current cultural moment calls for a return to women's wisdom.
    · Magic exists in subtle forms and is often dismissed in modern culture.
    · Storytelling shapes our understanding of the world.
    · Finding our purpose and protecting our creative potential are two of the most important things we can do during these uncertain times
    · Embracing our own weirdness is the key to coming up with new solutions for all the challenges facing us
    Sound bites
"Fairy tales hold hidden wisdom and power for women."
