- Trishanku has come under Vishvamitra’s protection, and Vishvamitra has made an extraordinary promise: he will send the king to heaven in his present body.
But when the gods refuse to appear at the sacrifice, Vishvamitra calls upon the power of his own tapas and sends Trishanku upward himself.
At the threshold of heaven, Indra rejects him and commands him to fall back toward Earth—head downward.
As Trishanku falls, Vishvamitra cries:
“Tishtha! Tishtha! — Stay! Stay!”
The fall stops.
What follows is one of the most extraordinary moments in Vishvamitra’s story. He creates a southern stellar arrangement and moves toward creating another Indra and other divine beings, forcing the gods and sages to intervene.
A settlement is finally reached: Vishvamitra’s promise will not become false, his created stars will remain, and Trishanku will stay among them—head downward, shining in the heavens.
This is the Season 1 finale of Ramayan – The Eternal Journey.
The journey, however, is far from over.
Season 2 is coming soon.

By the following morning, Trishanku's condition has completely changed. His ministers and the townspeople who followed him abandon him.
Alone, Trishanku goes to Vishvamitra.
Seeing the king's condition, Vishvamitra is moved to compassion. Trishanku recounts his rejection, his curse, and his still-unfulfilled desire to reach heaven in his physical body.
He says that fate now seems stronger than human effort—but then makes one final appeal to Vishvamitra:
Use human effort to overcome what fate has brought about.
The episode ends before Vishvamitra gives his answer. S1E23_WHEN_TRISHANKU_WAS_CURSED…

The story then turns to King Trishanku of the Ikshvaku dynasty, who carries an extraordinary desire: he wants to perform a sacrifice and ascend to the realm of the gods in his physical body.
Trishanku first approaches the great sage Vasistha, but Vasistha declares the goal impossible.
Still unwilling to abandon his purpose, Trishanku travels to Vasistha's sons. With humility and joined palms, he asks them to perform the sacrifice that might fulfill his extraordinary wish.
Their answer, however, is still to come.
