For one fleeting morning in Rivett, prophecy, war, and ancient obligations feel far away. Sharael has discovered a future she wants for herself, while Cullen begins to understand that reaching Silandria may demand a loss neither of them is prepared to accept.

The Razor still has to reach the White Circle. A familiar stranger has appeared again. And Sharael’s questions about the oath she made centuries ago can no longer be postponed. In S06E20 — End of Book 3, the revelations of Rivett begin to settle into consequence.

 

After Doontry Cliveborne’s explanations about the Contingentiam, the nine streams, the Razor, and the shared nature of souls across worlds, Cullen, Sharael, and DagGar leave with more truth than certainty. Cullen presses further on the Garans and learns that the threat rising in the Garden may be tied to the deepest past of the world itself. DagGar receives answers of his own, and they are no less strange.

 

Back at Tagot’s, the emotional centre of the finale takes hold.

 

Sharael stands before the Oath Sworn and confesses what she has hidden: that while she is truly Arael Maldeen, she is not the same Arael who ruled this stream. Shawn’s faith returns in force. Farthen offers loyalty with warmth rather than fear. And Cair, after all his doubt, conflict, and wounded honour, accepts what he can, asks to be released from service, and prepares to return to the war beyond Rivett.

 

Book 3 ends not with final peace, but with clarity, love, shifting allegiances, and the unmistakable sense that the next chapter will demand even more from them all.

In S06E19 — The Ninth Incarnation, the search for answers in Rivett finally reaches Doontry Cliveborne — and what he reveals changes everything.

 

After Cair’s certainty about Sharael is broken in a private confrontation, he leads Cullen, Sharael, and DagGar through Rivett’s night market to an old, hidden shop on the east wall of North Chamber Square. There, Doontry confirms what Cair could not accept: Sharael is Arael Maldeen. But that truth is only the beginning.

 

Over tea and in the shifting calm of Doontry’s rooms, the deeper explanation emerges. The Contingentiam is not merely a spell of time displacement. It is creation. This world is not simply altered from the one Sharael remembers — it is the ninth incarnation, one of nine streams born from the first. The Razor alone endures unchanged, while souls, lives, histories, and even identities echo and diverge across the streams.

 

For Sharael, the revelation is devastating and clarifying at once. She did not soil this world. She created it.

 

Book 3 opens wider than ever here, into theology, metaphysics, identity, and the terrifying possibility that all of this is only the first step in a much larger design.

In S06E18 — Rivett Reckoning, the company finally reaches the city they have been chasing since leaving the road behind.

 

After days of tension, quiet revelations, and uneasy travel, Cullen, Sharael, Cair, Shawn, Farthen, and DagGar arrive in Rivett — a city of stone walls, towering structures, gas lamps, and old names that may finally offer the answers they need. For Cullen and Sharael, the arrival carries a rare flicker of possibility: a room of their own, a bath, a brief pause, and the chance that Doontry Cliveborne may soon unravel the mysteries surrounding the Razor, the Contingentiam, and the fractured history of the Garden.

 

But Cair is no longer willing to wait.

 

In a private confrontation over dinner, he reveals that he has drugged Shawn to keep him out of the way and presses once more on the question of Sharael’s identity. What should have been a quiet arrival becomes another fracture point — one that leaves grief, anger, and reckoning hanging over the table before the true answers have even begun.

 

Book 3 enters Rivett with grandeur, strain, and the unmistakable sense that the hardest truths are still ahead.

In S06E17 — Valley of Craters, the company gets its first true look at the scale of the war spreading through the Garden.

 

After distant Garan weapon fire forces them to break camp in darkness, Cullen, Sharael, Cair, Shawn, Farthen, and DagGar move off the road and through the woods at first light, trying to avoid whatever lies ahead. When they reach the ridge, they find a valley destroyed: huge craters gouged into the earth, scorched rings of purple-black damage, and the bodies of hundreds of High Goblins scattered across the killing field.

 

The enemy is gone, but its methods remain.

 

As the company studies fragments of metal and strange alchemical casings left behind, the reality of Garan power becomes impossible to ignore. Yet even in the shadow of war, more intimate truths continue to surface. Cullen presses DagGar for answers about Corbin and Azrael, while Sharael opens more of her family history, tracing the origins of her divine line back through Sias, Corbin, and the rise of Silva Sterling.

 

Book 3 widens again here — into battlefield aftermath, ancient theology, and the unnerving sense that the world is changing faster than anyone can contain.
