Kate treats Kirsty to a free massage at Spiritual Home, and as they talk about Kirsty’s wellbeing, Kate mentions she can see Kirsty’s pregnancy bump. The relaxed mood is somewhat soured by the smell of manure, which leads Kate into a rant about Brian. Losing her concentration, Kate becomes too forceful with Kirsty’s foot massage, and Kirsty begs her to stop before she causes an injury! Over herbal tea, Kirsty listens as Kate worries about being the only sibling with a business connected to Brian. Kirsty suggests an escape plan. Kate seizes on this – she’ll move Spiritual Home to the Rewilding site.
George struggles to get started with his interview with Bill, who offers to come back to it – they enjoy coffee and a chat, with Bill offering something stronger and drinking from a hip flask. George is staying off the booze, supporting Amber, and reckons that’s the only way he’s good at supporting. But Bill praises grafter George, before revealing a few things about himself. Bill apologies for how he and Anne Marie behaved towards George back in February, and says he deserves a clean slate. George levels with Bill about how things need to be between Amber and her parents, before Bill tries to persuade George about the benefits of the swish new cot they’ve got for them. Bill feels that as grandparents they should have an input, and this cot is what their grandchild needs.

At the Showground, Lottie returns Chris’s phone after last night, and they agree they need a proper date, not a ‘booty call’. Chris gets a message from Harrison who’s due home in a couple of weeks, and wonders about living arrangements for himself and Martha. Chris is called away by David to the equestrian ring – the ground’s looking too hard to compete on.
Discussing the Borchester Show media plan, Amber wonders about some gaps. David insists all will become clear. He also advises getting some content from the Rural Crime Team. George sympathises about the recent attack on the sheep, and mentions Ed can’t show his Texel sheep due to Brian - Keira isn’t keen to step into the spotlight.
Amber’s dad, Bill, shows up looking for David. Bill has a stand at the Show and parks up his impressive prop 4x4 vehicle. Amber’s taken aback to learn about the ‘Platinum’ package Bill is getting, and that she’ll be writing up a piece on him for the Echo. George sheepishly explains his recent chat with Amber’s mum. Amber’s concerned about her parents lording the Platinum deal over her. Bill has another surprise for them – a baby shower gift in the form of a cot with plush features. Amber protests that they have the Grundy cot. George tries to mediate, offering his gratitude. But Amber feels put on the backfoot by her parents. She just wants the show done and her parents out of their lives. To help, George insists he’ll do the agreed interview with Bill.

It’s the day of Brian’s mediation meeting with Adam and he’s made biscuits, rebutting Kate’s suggestion that they’re an olive branch. He doesn’t need one; he’s the good guy. When she asks whether he’s thought about division of the partnership’s profits, he laughs that there aren’t any. Kate wishes him luck, reminding him he can’t be both the good guy and a stubborn stick-in-the-mud.
Ian advises Adam to stay calm and remember that Brian’s refusal to pay the family what they’re owed is immoral. Ian confides to Kate he fears Adam will lose his cool if Brian doesn’t play ball. Adam’s worked night and day to keep the farm afloat. Kate agrees, though she worries Xander’s relationship with his grandfather’s getting a little lost. Ian insists Brian sees Martha as more of a real grandchild than Xander.
Brian declares to Ruth that his main goal is to put a stop to the claims for money. Ruth reminds him today’s about negotiation and compromise. However when Adam arrives it’s clear Brian won’t shift his in view, insisting he’s bankrolled his children for years. Seeing an impasse, Ruth suggests a break and another meeting, but Brian declares there’ll be no more meetings. When Adam leaves Ruth asks Brian what he actually wants.
Later when Adam declares it’s the end of the road, Ian ventures they still have information on Ruairi. They know the secret and could mention this to Brian. Adam’s against this. Ruairi’s his brother and he’ll never do anything that puts him at risk. Family is more than just blood.
