Good Timin’ - A Beach Boys Podcast

On this 65th episode of Good Timin’, we discuss the upcoming Beach Boys box set, We Gotta Groove, which primarily covers the group’s recording output from 1976 to 1977.  Along with sharing our general thoughts on the set, we also run through the tracklist and highlight which songs and material that we’re each looking forward to hearing the most. Lastly, we close out the episode by briefly discussing several other Beach Boys box sets released over the years, including Good Vibrations and Feel Flows.

On this special bonus episode of Good Timin’, we discuss our year in music and share some of the songs and artists that we each listened to the most in 2025. To open the episode, we first share our top 5 most streamed songs of the year (along with some honorable mentions) and then discuss our most listened to artists, our most listened to albums, and a few of our favorite new songs and releases of 2025.

On this 64th and final “weekly” episode of Good Timin’, we share our updated personal rankings of our top 10 favorite Beach Boys studio albums, and explain why we ranked each record where we did. Following this, we briefly review our updated lists of our top 10 favorite songs by the band, and shout out some honorable mentions of other tracks that we love. Lastly, to close out the show, we talk a bit about our future plans for the podcast and reflect back on the past two years of Good Timin’.

On this 63rd episode of Good Timin’, Reilly and Matt share their updated personal rankings of The Beach Boys studio albums from #27 to #11, (minus the Christmas Album and Stars and Stripes) and briefly discuss their thoughts and opinions on each record.

On this 62nd episode of Good Timin’, we build our own fantasy ”Best of the Best” album, where we as a group nominate and vote for 30 of our all-time favorite songs from the Beach Boys’ discography. To give our tracklist more variety and make sure that it represents the band’s entire career, we are only allowed to select 5 songs from each of our 6 designated “eras” to be featured on the album. (1962-1964, 1965-1966, 1967-1969, 1970-1974, 1976-1979, and 1980-Present)  In addition, Beach Boys solo material is eligible for inclusion on our compilation, but only one solo track is allowed per era.
