Ep 461: Healing trauma through the expressive arts & homeopathy - with Dr Heather Herington

    31/05/2026 | 41 mins.
Some conversations stay with you long after they end, and my discussion with Dr Heather Herington was one of them. A naturopathic medical doctor and homeopath, Heather shared how her experiences with trauma, loss, and the death of her husband shaped both her life and her approach to healing. We explored her belief that recovery involves more than physical health, combining biochemistry with storytelling, emotional expression, and the arts. Heather also reflected on her experiences with homeopathy, challenges within the healthcare system, and why helping people reframe their personal narratives can be an important part of healing.

    Episode Highlights:
    04:01 - Dr. Heather's Journey into Homeopathy
05:15 - Transition from Practice to Creative Arts
07:14 - The Impact of Personal Loss
10:25 - The Role of Homeopathy in Healing
14:01 - Expressive Arts as a Healing Tool
18:34 - The Importance of Creativity in Healing
22:00 - Current Issues in Canada: MAID and Gender Dysphoria
25:29 - Balancing Awareness and Action
28:04 - The Therapeutic Power of Different Voices
    32:21 - Dr. Heather's Books
36:43 - Challenges with Social Media and Censorship

    About my Guests:
Dr. Heather Herington is a naturopathic medical doctor, homeopath, author, and performer with extensive expertise in trauma recovery and the treatment of complex, difficult-to-resolve health conditions. Her unique approach combines two essential elements of healing: restoring biochemical balance within the body and helping individuals explore, tell, or revise the stories and experiences that have shaped their lives.

With a deep understanding of the connection between mind, body, and emotions, Dr. Herington works with individuals experiencing psychological trauma, chronic pain, autoimmune disorders, addiction, and other chronic health challenges. She believes that true healing occurs when both the physiological and emotional roots of illness are addressed.

Beyond her clinical work, Dr. Herington is an accomplished writer of nonfiction, fiction, librettos, and radio plays, as well as a stage and voice-over performer. She is a passionate advocate for the expressive arts and their power to facilitate healing, personal transformation, and resilience. Through her work, she continues to inspire others to embrace creativity as a pathway toward health, recovery, and well-being.

Throwback Thursday episode 170: Ton Jansen's Human Chemistry - with Roger Savage

    27/05/2026 | 40 mins.
What makes Ton Jansen's human chemistry method a unique and effective approach to healing, and how has it opened up new avenues for treating complex health conditions?

During this fascinating episode, we had the privilege of speaking with Roger for the second time. Our conversation focused on exploring additional cases using the human chemistry method developed by Ton Jansen, as well as discussing recent advancements and progress in this methodology. Through our discussion, we gained valuable insights and a deeper understanding of the human chemistry approach.

Roger Savage has been practicing for an impressive 40 years, during which time he has explored various areas of alternative medicine. While he began his career as a radionics practitioner, his passion for homeopathy soon became apparent. He vividly remembers the day when he ignored his radionic device and instead reached for his notepad to take down a patient's symptoms, feeling like he was finally back on the right path. He is Ton Jansen's right-hand man and helps with all of his workshops using Tom's human chemistry method. It has also been called homeopathic detox therapy.

    Check out these episode highlights:

02:54 - Ton's approach is about restoring people's balance, not just detoxing

    09:48 - How does bio-resonance work

    17:58 - Ton Jansen's published works

20:54 - How can one gain access to the courses that are available

22:38 - The application of Ascending Potency

27:19 - How to handle those who cannot come off their medication

27:46 - An alternative way of using the slowly rising potency

34:17 - The application of water dosing

36:20 - The skepticism that homeopathy faces due to the perceived lack of substance in the remedies

Throwback Thursday episode 169: Present Child: You and your child are each other's remedy - with Janita Venema

    20/05/2026 | 34 mins.
In this episode, we have the opportunity to speak with Janita about the PresentChild method, a technique based on systemic therapy principles that enable effective communication and understanding with children. This approach is likely to be transformative not only for homeopaths but also for other natural healthcare practitioners who may feel frustrated with patients experiencing relapses after initial success.

Janita Venema is the founder and initiator of PresentChild, a method for understanding and communicating with children based on the principles of systemic therapy, family constellations, and quantum physics. Janita Venema is a Dutch psychologist and therapist who has been working with families and children for over 25 years. In her work, she noticed that many parents were struggling to communicate effectively with their children, leading to misunderstandings and conflict. This inspired her to develop the PresentChild method, which helps parents and caregivers understand the underlying messages and needs behind their child's behavior. Janita Venema has written several books on the PresentChild method, including "The PresentChild: A Gift for You and Your Family" and "The PresentChild Toolkit: How to Connect and Communicate with Your Child". She has also trained many professionals, including therapists, counselors, and educators, in the use of the PresentChild method.

    Check out these episode highlights:

02:11 - The answer to her son’s problems

06:53 - Discovering a new way of prescribing

12:42 - I'm the one who needs healing, not my child who needs fixing
