The Adversity that Women in STEM have faced + more!
Women throughout history have faced adversity wherever they go simply because they are told they are not as smart or can not do what their male counterparts can do. This is in fact bullshit, women can do anything they put their minds too & can pursue and chase any dream that they have. Although as a society, women are still being treated as if they are not equal in many aspects in life. The aspect that I’m touching on in todays episode is to raise awareness by touching on some personal experiences of two young women who are pursuing a degree in the field of STEM! As our society grows, awareness grows for those that are discriminated against. Women throughout society have been told ‘no’ and ‘you can’t do that because you’re a woman’, but times have changed and women can accomplish anything a man can and then some! Especially throughout schooling, women are told not to challenge themselves but what would life be without a challenge? Erika and Victoria, both seniors attending San Diego State University , studying astrophysics give me their take on the adversity they have faced while being women in a male dominated major.
