The 70th SBS Bank Tour of Southland is back for the second time in 2026. After the 2025 event was rescheduled to January this year, it has been a nine-month turnaround for Tour Director Waine Harding and the Cycling Southland team.

We preview one of the biggest week on the Southland sporting calendar and try to find its secret to a 70-year run that means it is the country's only multi-stage, multi-day road cycling event.
