Ep 70 - The Roar with Jacob Duffy

    23/12/2025 | 43 mins.
You thought we were done for the year. So did we. Then Jacob Duffy went out and broke Sir Richard Hadlee's 40-year record for most wickets across all formats in a calendar year. There was no way we were letting that pass without chatting to the man himself, (even if we were much more excited than Jake was about the numbers).

We chat through his year, the pride he has in helping his country win games of cricket and a very special message from Sir Richard himself.

Before then, Logan, Nathan and Nick talk through Jake's incredible year and make a water-tight case for his 2025 as the greatest year ever for a New Zealand bowler. We also take the chance to recognise a very special occassion as the ILT Academy Southland programme celebrated 20 years this week.

Ep 69 - The Roar presents the 2025 Goldies

    15/12/2025 | 1h 9 mins.
Southland sport's premier podcast awards are back. Today we award the second annual Goldies as we look back at the sporting year that was 2025.

Who will take out the Golden Goldie (yes that name needs some work) as our Athlete of the Year, the Rising Star, Most Likely to Smash it in 2026, Best Export, Best Import, Unsung Hero and the highly controversial Podcast Guest of the Year.

We are as surprised as you that we have made it to the end of another year, but all jokes aside we do feel very lucky to have been joined by some outstanding Southlanders throughout the year and we greatly appreciate you giving us your time.

Have a great holiday break with whanau and friends and here's to another cracker of a sporting year in 2026.
