  • Ep 34 - The Roar with Finn Mitchell & the Inaugural Goldies
We bring the curtain down on the first year of The Roar with an incredible conversation. Finn Mtichell was 25% of the FEAR Youth Adventure Racing Team that has just returned from trekking through Ecuadorain jungle and mountains to finish sixth in the World Adventure Racing Championships. It is a truly remarkable story of just what the human body is capable of if you have the mental toughness and resilience. Try and get your head around these numbers - 650 kilometres, 20,000 metres of elevation, four hours sleep over four days. Yeah we can't either! Finn's interview starts at the 40'30 mark. Before then, Logan, Nathan and Nick hand out their Inauguarl Goldies, named in honour of Southland's most famous sporting talent, recognising (most of) the best and fairest across an incredible year for Southland sport. Who is most likely to smash it in 2025, our Rising Star, Performance of the Year, Podcast Guest of 2024 (spoiler alert: we couldn't choose one) and of course the Golden Goldie (we need a better name) as SPortsperson of the Year.Thank you so much for coming along for the ride with us since March. We've had a blast and we can't wait for more great Southland sporting yarns in 2025. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from the three of us to you and your families.Logan, Nathan & Nick
