He won an Emmy for penning the episode Bowling, and went on to write or direct for shows like the Mindy Project, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, and Young Sheldon. He's an absolute chiller, as all the people who helped make Malcolm in the Middle are.

We grill Alex about life in the Linwood writers room and get into how these episodes were put together: from outline to final script.

Alex gives insight into things we didn't even realize to ask about, like whose feet are ACTUALLY being rubbed in Old Mrs. Old? And who is doing the dang rubbing??
