268: Feeling Like Your Resume Only Qualifies You For One Job? This Is For You | Maddy’s Story

    19/05/2026 | 40 mins.
What do you do when you have a great job at a great company with great benefits, but you're completely empty inside?

That was Maddy’s reality. As an executive coordinator at Deloitte, she had everything that looked good on paper, but behind the scenes she was running on empty, feeling underemployed, and quietly convinced that she was stuck in this career path forever.

So she did something terrifying. She left. Without a job lined up.

But everything worked out! Because "We know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose." Romans 8:28

So in this episode, Audrey sits down with Maddie to unpack the full journey, from burnout and brave decisions, all the way to a role she is genuinely, excitedly walking into. It's a story about identity, transferable skills, trusting God in the waiting, and what it really looks like to step out of the boat.

    In this episode, you'll hear:
Why feeling underemployed can amplify burnout in ways that sneak up on you

The self-limiting beliefs that kept her from even imagining a career pivot

The Peter-walking-on-water moment that carried her through the fear

Her top 3 practical job search tips

What trusting God practically looked like: journaling, Scripture, community, and honest prayer

If you've ever felt trapped by your job title, convinced your resume only qualifies you for one thing, or just completely drained by a role that looks great on paper, this episode is for you.

    Always cheering you on,

267: Early Career Job Search Tips That Actually Help You Get Interviews | Katherine's Story

    12/05/2026 | 31 mins.
Do you feel behind in your career?

Maybe you’re watching friends move forward while you’re still applying. Maybe you dread being asked, “How’s the job search going?” Or maybe you feel like you’ve done everything right on paper, but you still aren’t getting the results you hoped for.

In this episode, Audrey talks with Katherine, a recent master’s graduate who went from feeling discouraged and stuck in the job market to landing weekly interviews, building new confidence, and accepting an Organizational Change Management role that checked the boxes for her early career goals.

    They discuss:
    - Why post-grad life can feel so tender and full of comparison
    - How to stop seeing yourself as a victim of the job market
    - Why consistency matters more than motivation in the job search
    - Why early career candidates need to speak with more confidence
    - How to redefine success during the job search
    - Practical advice for recent graduates and early career professionals

If you’re feeling behind, this conversation is a reminder that God is not late, your story is not over, and your next step may be closer than you think.

    28/04/2026 | 45 mins.
What do you do when the career path you worked so hard for suddenly disappears?

In this episode, Audrey talks with Cristy, a professor whose academic role was unexpectedly eliminated after years of working toward what felt like a secure and meaningful future. After investing nearly a decade into graduate education, teaching, research, and the pursuit of tenure, Cristy found herself facing a painful question: What now?

    They discuss:
What it feels like when the career you built your life around unexpectedly ends

How to grieve the future you thought you were working toward

The difference between career misalignment and life-stage misalignment

Why clarity often comes through exploration, not overthinking

How God can use disruption to reveal a better-fit path

How to trust God when you cannot see far down the road

If your career plan has changed, your job search feels uncertain, or you are wondering what God is doing in your work, this episode will remind you that your calling is not over just because the path looks different than you expected.

    Cheering you on,

264: How Consecrating His Job Search to God Changed Everything | James’ Story

    21/04/2026 | 1h
What happens when you come into the career discernment process expecting a major pivot, and God leads you somewhere completely unexpected instead?

In this episode, Audrey sits down with James, a global communications manager who spent 13 years at a nonprofit working in Africa. He came to us feeling burned out, questioning his direction, and wondering if it was finally time to leave his entire career field behind.

What happened instead? A mindset shift that changed everything, and a dream offer from a gospel-centered ministry, arriving on a Saturday morning.

    Audrey and James discuss:
What it actually means to consecrate your job search

The “less think, more click” motto that became a cornerstone of James’ application process

The bold prayers he prayed, and what happened within the same week

How he landed and aced a values-based interview at a ministry

The encouragement James has for anyone who fears their “big career pivot” won’t be as dramatic as they hoped
