  • Carl Bland on adapting a timeless story with a twist
    Listen in as playwright Carl Bland talks about the process of adapting the classic tale of Peter Pan for the stage. Carl discusses his writing process, his favourite themes and characters, and how to write for both adults and children. Carl is one half of the theatre company, Nightsong. He has written and created shows such as The Bed Show, The House of Doors and Camels and Peta and Carl at the Last Supper and Sofa Stories. Carl has also been a finalist in the New Zealand Book Awards for Children and Young Adults in the Picture Book section, and a winner of the best use of illustration in the Spectrum Book Awards. His company, Nightsong excites and surprises audiences by showing them what is possible theatrically. He will now be doing just that, by bringing the magical story of Peter Pan to the stage.
