Introduction:
The common frustration of seemingly unanswered prayer: "I asked, but nothing happened."
The dangerous theology: "Maybe God is teaching me a lesson" or "Maybe the answer is 'wait'."
Thesis: God is a good Heavenly Father who gives good gifts; the blockage is never on His end, but often on ours (unbelief, unrighteousness, or lack of alignment).
Scriptural Foundation:
Matthew 7:7-11: "Everyone that asketh receiveth." (Emphasis on the everyone and the good things our Heavenly Father gives to them that ask Him).
2 Corinthians 1:20: "For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us."

MY MAIN POINTS:
The "Umbrella" Analogy: I explain how God's blessings are a constant rain, but we hold up "umbrellas" of doubt, tradition, or secret sin that block us from getting "wet" with the "rain" of God's ceaseless blessings.
Blaming God vs. Taking Responsibility: Why saying "God said, 'No'," can be a subtle form of blasphemy and is actually blaming God for our lack of results.
The Difference Between "Asking Amiss" and "Asking in Faith:" I clarify that James 4:3 applies to lustful/evil intent by people who are not godly. The idea of saying people do not get their prayers answered because they are asking amiss, ignores the fact that the people being discussed in James 4:14 are not the godly man or woman who has a desire for good things like a better house, job, or health.
Action Steps:
Audit Your Beliefs: Identify where you have accepted "No" as an answer and start only accepting "Yes."
The "Yes" Affirmation: Create a daily confession starting with "God's answer for my [desire] is YES because His promises are true."
