    01/07/2026 | 56 mins.
Welcome to Season 15 Episode 26 of the ParentingAces Podcast! In this week's podcast, Danielle McNamara is back to take a deep look at the current college tennis landscape and how the NCAA's proposed rule changes could affect recruits and transfer athletes.
Danielle McNamara was the women’s tennis head coach at Yale from 2006-14, and 2016-21. She was also the head coach at Texas from 2014-15. She played college tennis at the University of Michigan, where she became the first player in program history to participate in all three national championships; ITA All-Americans, ITA National Indoors, and NCAA Championships. She is also the former Director of Coach Education at the ITA and current founder of DLM Coaching so is well-credentialed to discuss the current state of college tennis.
This episode includes discussion of the recent cuts to college tennis teams, growth of the transfer portal, and the growing strength of non-DI programs. Danielle explains how all of these issues could impact current and future recruits.

AI for Junior Tennis Analytics ft Sid Chalamalasetty

    24/06/2026 | 38 mins.
Welcome to Season 15 Episode 25 of the ParentingAces Podcast! This week, Lisa speaks with high school tennis player, Sid Chalamalasetty, about his new app, MatchGenie.
Sid has been playing competitive tennis while also pursuing a challenging education at The Roxbury Latin School in the Boston area. As he made his way through tournaments, he wished for access to the type of in-depth analytics available to professional players. That led him to develop MatchGeniewhich lets players log matches through live tracking, video upload, or text and voice reflection. The AI breaks down their data into patterns, shots, weaknesses, win rate trends —and turns it into specific training plans and opponent strategies. Coaches get a single dashboard with every player's match data in one place. Parents get real numbers on their child's progress and development.
Sid isn't just a talented player and coder. He also cares deeply about equity in tennis and all sports. Beyond just being a very useful app, MatchGenie includes a 1-1 equity model built into the platform. Every paid subscription funds a free account for an underserved player.
Sid has graciously offered free access to MatchGenie to the ParentingAces community. Just go to www.matchgenie.ai to launch. You can also access it via the QR code found in the show notes on ParentingAces.com.
If you are interested in reaching out to Sid, you can reach him via email at matchgenieai@gmail.com or on LinkedIn at https://www.linkedin.com/in/sid-chalamalasetty-58743b337/.

John and Kelsey host the Tennis Talk 101 podcast and had me on as a guest in 2024 (click https://open.spotify.com/episode/3MSDPeRxY842W4G3OnNSqs to listen). They are committed to educating coaches, players, and parents about what it takes to find success as a tennis player utilizing their own vast experience to face the hard truths in junior development and competition.
In this episode, John and Kelsey discuss their recent trip to the John Newcombe Tennis Ranch in New Braunfels, Texas, where they took a group of Australian junior players to train and learn about the US college tennis system and opportunities. Do You Need a Tennis Advisor ft Chris Boyer

    10/06/2026 | 54 mins.
Welcome to Season 15 Episode 23 of the ParentingAces Podcast! This week's guest, Chris Boyer, is a Tennis Parent as well as someone who has worked closely with the United States Tennis Association (USTA) and is here to offer his insights into what makes tennis a hard sport.
Chris's professional background as a nationally award-winning marketing executive for brands including Coca-Cola, The North Face, GEICO, the New York Mets, Boston Celtics, and Miami Heat, provided him a unique lens into the business of sport. Combined with decades of direct experience in tennis, this perspective led to firsthand insight into the realities of youth sports, NCAA recruiting regulations, college fit evaluation, and the broader sports sponsorship and partnership landscape. Chris created Tennis Advisors to bring clarity, integrity, and informed guidance to families, companies, and brands navigating this complex ecosystem so they don't have to do it alone.
Chris has lived through the Junior Tennis Journey with his son, Tristan. As Chris shares in this episode, Tristan showed early promise on the tennis court, eventually becoming one of the top American juniors and going on to a successful college tennis career at Stanford University. Tristan is now pursuing a professional tennis career and is currently ranked 192 on the ATP Tour. None of that happened by accident! Chris tapped into his professional contacts to help Tristan achieve his tennis goals and is now offering to help other families on a similar path through Tennis Advisors.
You will hear Chris mention a Russian tennis coach who worked with that country's youngest players. Read more about it here: https://www.nytimes.com/2007/03/04/sports/playmagazine/04play-talent.html
You will also hear Chris talk about Eric Butorac's unique journey to professional tennis. Watch our podcast with Eric here: http://youtube.com/watch?v=PgS_QsDIFhQ&feature=youtu.be

The Road to High Performance ft Sukhwa Young, Jack Satterfield, & Ronit Karki

    03/06/2026 | 52 mins.
Welcome to Season 15 Episode 22 of the ParentingAces Podcast! The term "high-performance" gets thrown around with abandon in the world of Junior Tennis. This week, we hear from a coach and 2 of his players what a high-performance developmental program truly looks like.
Coach Sukhwa Young grew up in the unlikely-for-tennis-players place of Alaska. When he fell in love with tennis, his family quickly realized it would be difficult to get him the type of training and competition he needed in order to reach his goals. When Sukhwa asked to move to Florida, his family supported him on his journey to becoming a professional player.
Now Sukhwa is a sought-after coach by the country's top junior players. He has worked with Vanderbilt player, Jack Satterfield, from an early age, and with Stanford commit, Ronit Karki, in recent years. Both of these young men have competed for the biggest titles in junior tennis with the help of Sukhwa's incredible coaching.
In this episode, all three of them share their journeys and the specifics of what it means to be in a high-performance environment. This conversation provides a unique opportunity for parents, players, and other junior coaches to compare their current situation to how these men have been training from a young age.
If you're interested in reaching out to Sukhwa, you can find him at the Eric Dobsha Tennis Academy in Tampa. Visit their website at https://www.dobshatennis.com/ or email them at TeamDobsha@gmail.com.
You can keep up with Jack and Ronit through their Instagram: Jack at https://www.instagram.com/jack.roger.satterfield/ and Ronit at https://www.instagram.com/ronit.carkey/.
