The woman asked for help. She said she had lost her wedding ring.
Kay offered what little light she had, but the ring was never found. The woman insisted it would be discovered that night.
The next morning, Kay’s boyfriend — a police officer — told her that when investigators confronted the accused killer with a bag containing the victim’s wedding rings, he confessed immediately.
