It started like any ordinary night—four young people driving through familiar streets, killing time, waiting at a red light. Nothing felt unusual until they noticed the car beside them. The people inside were quiet. One man sat in the back, hood pulled low, smiling in a way that felt out of place. Before the light changed, the women in the other car made a strange, deliberate gesture—solemn, serious, and unsettling.
Hours later, on a road that should have been busy, the street was completely empty.
Ahead of them, a car appeared out of control. The driver was slumped forward, bleeding, unresponsive. The vehicle fishtailed, swerved, and slammed into a fence at the corner of a residential street. They stopped to help, expecting chaos, damage, urgency.
Instead, they were met with indifference.
The homeowner showed no concern. The fence showed no damage. Police arrived and refused to take a report. No one would acknowledge that anything had happened at all.
