  • Earth’s Origins: Science, Theology, and a New Geology Textbook | The Creation Podcast: Episode 99
Since the late eighteenth century, most scientists have argued for a uniformitarian view of Earth’s history. They claim the world that exists today was sculpted by natural processes over billions of years. However, this interpretation presents many issues both scientifically and theologically. Contrary to popular belief, the global evidence indicates a recent catastrophic past. By definition, science is truth attained by knowledge gained from evidence, but most students will only be presented with the uniformitarian view of Earth’s history. Recently, the Institute for Creation Research has had the privilege of publishing a geology textbook: Earth Systems: An Introduction to Earth System Origins, Structures, and Processes. This landmark textbook presents both worldviews, allowing the reader to examine both sides of the conversation. In today’s episode, we’ll take a look at why such a biblical understanding of earth science is vital and why this textbook is such a valuable resource. Join host Renée Dusseau and Dr. Timothy Clarey as they discuss this topic on episode 99 of The Creation Podcast. Get your copy of E... More...

  • Water vs. Wind: The Controversial Coconino | The Creation Podcast: Episode 98
Welcome to the sixth episode in a series called “The Failures of Old Earth Creationism.” Many Christians attempt to fit old earth ideology into their beliefs, adopting uniformitarian or evolutionary pieces into their worldview. While this is often done in an effort to appeal to science, it often leads to major issues logically, scientifically, and theologically. The Coconino Sandstone is a sedimentary rock formation famously exposed near the top of Grand Canyon, but it spreads much further, from northern Arizona, northwest Colorado, through Nevada, and Utah. This rock remains locked in geological controversy as two counterclaims vie for its origin. Those who believe in an old earth claim that the feature was primarily wind-deposited, while others claim that the sandstone was formed by water. Which of these is true, and why is the answer so important? In today’s episode, we’ll take a look at the Coconino Sandstone, examining the claims made from both sides. Join host Renée Dusseau and Dr. Brian Thomas as they discuss this topic on episode 98 of The Creation Podcast. --- Join ... More...

  • What Do We Do With Geology's Unconforming Features? | The Creation Podcast: Episode 97
Welcome to the fifth episode in a series called “The Failures of Old Earth Creationism.” Many Christians attempt to fit old earth ideology into their beliefs, adopting uniformitarian or evolutionary pieces into their worldview. While this is often done in an effort to appeal to science, it can cause major logical, scientific, and theological issues. A geological phenomenon known as the Great Unconformity exists all across the world. This erosional surface presents a problem to uniformitarian scientists and old-earth creationists alike. Where did it come from? How is it so remarkably smooth? What could cause an erosional surface to such a global extent? In today’s episode we’ll take a look at the Great Unconformity and unravel the mysteries within the rocks. Join host Renée Dusseau and Dr. Timothy Clarey as they discuss this topic on episode 97 of The Creation Podcast. --- Join ICR's YouTube channel to get access to perks Join us on Patreon ... More...

  • Humanity's Demise at the Hands of Genetic Entropy | The Creation Podcast: Episode 96
Welcome to the fourth episode in a series called “The Failures of Old Earth Creationism.” Many Christians attempt to fit old earth ideology into their beliefs, adopting uniformitarian or evolutionary pieces into their worldview. While this is often done in an effort to appeal to science, it can cause major logical, scientific, and theological issues. Proponents of biological evolution claim that creatures are evolving upward over millions of years, becoming better and ‘more fit’ to survive with each successive generation through the accumulation of ‘beneficial mutations.’ However, even the most cursory dive into genetics shows something entirely different. In fact, the accumulation of mutations is detrimental, and also causes major problems with the concept of biologically long ages. In today’s episode we’ll explore the evidence in an effort to reveal what’s going on beneath the skin. Join host Renée Dusseau and Dr. Jeff Tomkins as they discuss this topic on episode 96 of The Creation Podcast. Resources: Genetic Clocks Verify Recent Creation ---More...
