How do you balance kids’ natural curiosity and imaginative play with the constantly evolving tech and screens? When is too early, or too late to give your teen or tween a smartphone? • S10|04 - How to Raise an Un-Rebellious Teen
The other day I was chatting with my teens about staying up late, and the thought came to me: “They don’t rebel because they have nothing to rebel against”. I’m not advocating for boundary-less and teaching-less homes… but you may be surprised to hear that you can parent teens without the rebellion, and with a deep and connected relationship, that lasts long past teenage-hood, and throughout their lifetime. Let’s start where I end the episode, “You’ll never regret loving them more”- me. In today’s episode: My teen years, and how relationship and emotional safety impacted my rebellious-ness How parenting teens doesn’t need to be hard, and rebellion doesn’t need to be part of the path The magic of connection, communication and trust in cultivating a great relationship with your teen “Kids do well if they can”- digging into what’s happening below the surface of behaviour, instead of leaning into control (ie. rewards and punishments). How to believe and trust our teens, and in doing so increase our influence----Intuitive Journaling Prompts HERE and a somatic meditation (Move through frustration in 15 minutes or less) HEREGet started on this work with daily practice in a journal (a great intro to mental and emotional wellness) HEREWork with Crystal 1:1: www.coachcrystal.ca/miracle or in group: www.coachcrystal.ca/creationroomGrab your copy of Crystal’s feelings wheel here: www.coachcrystal.ca/wheel

  • S10|03 - Moving Through Grief — A Somatic Experience
This fun episode is an interview with me! I get asked all the questions you might ask me too… what has your journey been like? How did you get where you are now? What do you do and how does it help people? You’ll hear me help my friend and fellow coach, Sarah Bond, process through grief in a different way than you’ve likely heard before. Let’s dig in! What we chat about today: Why I don’t coach the same way that I used to, and what I found that has been more effective for me Why emotions need to be processed in the body, and not in the mindWe move through an inner child/somatic practice to help with grief… and it takes us in an expected, but beautiful direction. Choosing from abundance, instead of lack, to find your next area of growth… “healing is remembering” Connect with me:Intuitive Journaling Prompts HERE and another somatic meditation (Move through frustration in 15 minutes or less) HEREGet started on this work through a daily mindset practice from Coach Crystal- Journal HEREWork with Crystal 1:1: www.coachcrystal.ca/miracle or in group: www.coachcrystal.ca/creationroomGrab your copy of Crystal’s feelings wheel here: www.coachcrystal.ca/wheel
