2 Black Guys Talk Godzilla

Here we are, live from Anaheim, California! On this bonus episode of 2 Black Guys Talk Godzilla, following a busy afternoon, Aaron Neuwirth and Terence spent some of Saturday night covering their experience at 2026’s WonderCon. This includes discussion of the general vibe of the con, one of the few Godzilla-related panels, and a live unboxing of something purchased that’s connected to one of their favorites. The duo also provides some updates on the show and future plans. Most importantly, Terence and Aaron also answered the many audience questions submitted from all over prior to the recording, and they had a wide variety of topics to cover. Enjoy!

A Queen will live, die, and repeat for this series of films! On this week’s episode of 2 Black Guys Talk Godzilla, Aaron and Terence cover a separate trilogy away from Godzilla that served as the actual conclusion of the Heisei Era. These movies are 1996’s Rebirth of Mothra, directed by Okihiro Yoneda;  1997’s Rebirth of Mothra II, directed by Kunio Miyoshi; and 1998’s Rebirth of Mothra III, directed by Yoneda again. Terence and Aaron have more than enough to dive into here, including variations of Mothra, how these films reveal more of her universe, the rivalry between her dedicated twins and their evil sister Belvera, and more. The Queen of the Monsters returns, and this time it’s a Battle for Earth! On this week’s episode of 2 Black Guys Talk Godzilla, Aaron and Terence discuss the richly-colored adventure film that is 1992’s Godzilla vs. Mothra, directed by Takao Okawara. The duo has plenty to cover regarding Godzilla’s winged foe, as well as the new addition that is Battra. It’s time to get back to talking Godzilla, as he’s challenged once again by his greatest nemesis this week, and it’s a battle that transcends time! On this week’s episode of 2 Black Guys Talk Godzilla, Aaron and Terence discuss the bonkers time-traveling adventure film that is 1991’s Godzilla vs. King Ghidorah, directed by Kazuki Ōmori. The duo has the work cut out for them here, as this film is keen to reference so many science fiction stories of the time while also delivering epic kaiju action. We’re putting Godzilla aside to take a look at some other big spectacle films from the Heisei Era. On this week’s episode of 2 Black Guys Talk Godzilla, Aaron Neuwirth and Terence take a look at 1989’s Gunhed, directed by Masato Harada, and 1994’s Orochi, The Eight-Headed Dragon, directed by Takao Okawara.
