Sportish Question Time! Rep trials, pathways and early signs of excellence

    18/08/2026 | 30 mins.
We asked and the Sporties DELIVERED! It's Sportish Question Time! Think of it like catching up for a coffee with us and you've brought along a sports issue you need nutted out. On today's agenda - trialling for rep even when you're not good enough, development pathways, managing kids who are showing early signs of being excellent and what if compared to your peers you're just, well, average?
(Big thanks to all the Sporties that sent through questions - that fact that you're asking already means that you're doing great).

Why we need to have a conversation about sport and gambling

    11/08/2026 | 28 mins.
Gambling reform is everywhere at the moment - in the media, on your feed, and possibly, your what's a group. And in our opinion, that's sparking a very overdue conversation about gambling and it's relationship with sport. We also cover an amazing inclusive program being rolled out by Netball Queensland PLUS we get all academic (we'd appreciate it if you could hide your shock) and discuss a research article in The Conversation about early specialisation.
Links (as promised, you know Georgie's all over this):

The Scott Miller documentary that hit Libby for six

    28/07/2026 | 27 mins.
You know how much we love a sporting doco. Can't get to them fast enough. And the Scott Miller swimming documentary was no exception. Except, it's taken Libby a couple of weeks to actually talk about it. Miller was a swimming poster boy of the 90s who fell from favour and the public eye after he was arrested and jailed for his involvement in drugs and trafficking. And it's more relatable to than Libby had anticipated.
Deep End: The Scott Miller Story is available now on ABC iView

Tour drug testing scandals, Comm Games feelings and how we talk about umpires

    21/07/2026 | 28 mins.
The lead athletes in the Tour de France are being woken up in the middle of the night and Libby is unimpressed thank you very much. Georgie is baffled about how to feel about the Commonwealth Games and we get stuck into how we talk about umpires and referees off the back of some World Cup behaviour. Come join us!
