#51- Who Bewitched You? Charismatic Deception Exposed (Faith on the Fringe Preview)

    19/04/2026 | 1h 3 mins.
    Episode Summary
Who bewitched you? Paul asked the Galatians. We're asking the modern church. Charismatic witchcraft, Jezebel and Python spirits, counterfeit anointing, and the specific ways the kingdom of darkness is operating through Spirit-filled leadership are on the table.
This is a special crossover episode airing simultaneously on The Culture Cast and Kingdom Talk to introduce Faith on the Fringe, our new supernatural biblical theology podcast launching April 27. We both came from deep in the New Age and the occult before Jesus pulled us out, and we've both watched the same spirits that operated in those spaces quietly take up residence in charismatic Christianity.
Go listen to the Faith on the Fringe trailer on Genesis 6: The Part of the Bible Your Pastor Skips Right Over: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/faith-on-the-fringe/id1894554711
In this conversation, we unpack how dry, cessationist churches create hunger that charismatic deception feeds on. Why believers who credit a leader with their "unlocking" or "activation" instead of Jesus develop blind loyalty that short-circuits discernment. The actual fruit test Jesus gave us in Matthew 7. The warning signs of a bewitched congregation. And the difference between a leader who redirects glory to Christ and one who hoards it.
We also talk about why we both came under the same conviction on the same day to stop saying "Lord" and start saying Lord Jesus Christ of Nazareth, and how many counterfeit spirits hide behind ambiguous language.
This is your preview of Faith on the Fringe. The trailer drops today. Full season launches April 27.
    Spirit-Filled. Bible-Obsessed. Slightly Unhinged.
    Featured Quote
"When you are submitting to leadership that is putting you under deception, you are in massive idolatry. And it says in the Word of God that you become deaf, dumb and blind like your idol." -- Malaine Lea Butler
    Key Takeaways
Charismatic leaders exploit spiritual hunger. When churches are dry and cessationist (meaning no active Holy Spirit manifestation), hungry believers either drift toward the New Age to find the supernatural or they become prime targets for witchcraft masquerading as Kingdom ministry. The hunger itself isn't wrong. What feeds it matters.
False loyalty creates spiritual blindage. When you credit a leader with your "unlocking" or "activation" instead of Jesus, you develop an unconscious dependency. That dependency skews discernment. You stop being able to hear what the Holy Spirit is actually saying because your spiritual ear is tuned to the wrong frequency.
The red flags are specific. Worship of the person. Submission demanded without questions. Glory removed from Jesus and placed on the leader. The phrase "through my anointing, you are anointed." If the leader's life and fruit don't match what's being preached from the stage, that's the signal. Matthew 7:15-20 still applies.
Check the fruit, not the gift. The kingdom of darkness can show you real power. Counterfeit spirits do real things. The test isn't "did something supernatural happen?" The test is: where's the glory going, what's the fruit in the leader's life, is the congregation being set free or kept in bondage, and how much Jesus is actually being preached versus stories about the leader?
Admiration versus obsession. Appreciating a teacher is fine. Needing them for every "word," constantly quoting them over Scripture, feeling unsettled when they're not in your ear, that's crossed into bewitchment. Acts 5 with Ananias and Sapphira shows where false loyalty leads. It is never benign.
Fear of the Lord is the antidote. Not anxiety. Awe. The kind of holy reverence that keeps you more loyal to Jesus Christ of Nazareth than to any leader, anointing, or movement. Discernment is downstream of that.

    Featured Scripture
    Galatians 3:1 (ESV)
"O foolish Galatians! Who has bewitched you? It was before your eyes that Jesus Christ was publicly portrayed as crucified."
Application: Paul's rebuke to the Galatian church establishes that believers can be bewitched. Drawn away from the centrality of Christ and His finished work through false teaching and charismatic personalities. Modern charismatic leaders replicate this ancient deception when they replace Jesus as the focal point of faith with their own authority, anointing, or movement. The correction is the same now as it was then: return your eyes to the crucified and risen Christ.

#50- Deliverance Is for the Saints: A Raw Conversation with Alziere Clarke

    14/04/2026 | 1h 5 mins.
    Intro
Episode 50 is here and we are going all the way in. Malaine sits down with her sister in Christ, Alziri Clark, for a bold, no-fluff conversation on deliverance ministry, setting the captives free, and what it actually looks like to walk in the authority Jesus already paid for. These two have been moving in similar Kingdom circles for a couple of years, but it was a divine connection at the end of 2025 that brought them together and the fruits from that have been real, powerful, and on full display. If you've ever been told deliverance isn't for Christians, this episode will wreck that lie. Freedom is for everyone. And the saints are the ones called to carry it.
    Featured Quote
"Most people that are in that space are actually really bound up." -Malaine Butler
    Key Takeaways
Deliverance is not for a special class of super-ministers. Isaiah 61 was what Jesus read in the temple -- and he passed it straight to us. You've got the tools. Go and do it.
Saints are called to raise and equip other saints. If someone at your workplace needs healing and you carry the answer, that is on you to move.
There are real protocols in deliverance ministry that protect you. Never minister one-on-one to someone of the opposite sex without another person present. Alziri learned this firsthand -- and it is a lesson worth hearing.
The enemy will always try to retaliate when you push back darkness. Spiritual warfare is real, it is personal, and you need to be covered.
Getting to do this work alongside other believers -- sitting in on deliverances, watching Jesus move in and through people -- is one of the greatest privileges in ministry life.
    Bible Verse
"The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me, because the Lord has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners." - Isaiah 61:1

    #49- Warrior Mothers ARISE

    07/04/2026 | 44 mins.
    Summary
The world is not getting quieter. It is getting louder, bolder, and more brazen in its war against our children. Abortion. Gender confusion. Witchcraft embedded in cartoons, toys, and games. The enemy is not hiding anymore. And yet so many mothers are still holding back, worried about being too much, too bold, too zealous for Jesus.
This episode is Malaine's clarion call to the mothers in the Body of Christ. No guests. No filter. Just a holy provocation to rise.

    Featured Quote
"The devil is blatant about it -- and you're worried about being zealous for Jesus."
-- Malaine, Kingdom Talk with Malaine

    Key Takeaways
God is calling mothers in this hour to step into the Hannah anointing -- an anointing of intercession, dedication, and holy expectation for their children.
Season 2 of Kingdom Talk is themed 'Setting the Captives Free' -- and that freedom starts in our homes.
Worshiping in expectancy is a weapon. Hannah worshiped before the breakthrough. We do the same for our children's destiny and protection.
The cultural landscape is a spiritual battlefield. Abortion, gender mutilation, identity confusion, and witchcraft in mainstream media are signs that mothers must arise NOW.
Being zealous for Jesus is not extreme -- it is the appropriate response to an extreme hour.
Halloween is not neutral. Malaine calls out light parties and church celebrations on October 31 as the same spirit wearing a different costume.
Pray specifically: armor of God over your children, minds of Christ, dismantling enemy assignments, and divine realignment of their friendships.

    Bible Verse
"She made a vow and said, 'O Lord of hosts, if You will indeed look on the affliction of Your maidservant... then I will give him to the Lord all the days of his life.'"
    1 Samuel 1:11

    Call to Action
Warrior Mama, your children need you to arise. Not tomorrow. Now.

#48- Activating Deliverance for Destiny with Steve & Sarah Turner

    31/03/2026 | 1h 8 mins.
    Show Review:
What if the thing standing between you and the promised land is something you didn't even know was there? In this powerful episode of Kingdom Talk, host Malaine Lea Butler sits down with Steve and Sarah Turner a married couple who grew up in the faith, loved Jesus their whole lives, and still discovered they needed deliverance. This one will shake something loose in you. In the best way.
    QUOTE OF THE EPISODE
"Deliverance isn't the destination. It's a part of the destiny. It helps you get to the destination." -- Steve Turner
    KEY TAKEAWAYS
Christians absolutely can carry demonic oppression -- and the enemy has worked overtime to convince the church otherwise. Two people told Steve the same lie the day before his first major deliverance. Coincidence? No.
Growing up saved can create a false sense of security. When you've never hit rock bottom spiritually, it's easy to coast -- even while carrying real bondage in your bloodline, soul wounds, and areas of mixture.
Deliverance is often layered, not a one-time event. Sarah and Steve share how freedom came in waves over months and years -- each layer revealing something deeper, each breakthrough producing more fruit.
Kingdom marriage is a target. The enemy does not care if you go to church on Sunday. He cares deeply about destroying the covenant between a husband and wife, because that union reflects Christ and His bride.
Your identity as a son or daughter of God is the foundation. Deliverance is not about getting demons out so you can perform better for God. It is about clearing the way so you can actually know who you are in Him.
Busyness is one of the enemy's most effective tools -- even kingdom busyness. Malaine, Steve, and Sarah all share how doing good things can become a distraction from the Lord's actual invitation.
    SCRIPTURE OF THE EPISODE
"The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free." -- Luke 4:18
    CALL TO ACTION
If this episode stirred something in you, if there's a quiet hunger for more freedom, more intimacy, more of Jesus in your actual everyday life don't ignore that. That's the Holy Spirit.
Ask Him today: Lord, is there more? Show me what's in the way.
And if you are married, do this together. Your covenant is powerful and your freedom together is worth fighting for.
Share this episode with a believer you love who might be coasting. Sometimes we need someone to hand us the key to the door we didn't know was locked.

#47- Dismantling the Spirit of Religion with Jenny Goncher

    24/03/2026 | 1h 10 mins.
    Episode Description
There is a difference between honoring the Church… and tolerating bondage.
In this raw and confronting conversation, Malaine is joined by returning guest Jenny Gontchar to expose the spirit of religion that is quietly keeping believers bound, silenced, and misled.
    This episode is not anti-Church.
    It is anti-bondage.
Together, they unpack the tension many believers feel: loving the Church deeply, while refusing to partner with systems and mindsets that deny the power of true freedom in Christ.
If you have ever been told:
    “Christians don’t need deliverance”
“If you’re still struggling, something is wrong with you”
Or felt shut down for being hungry for more of the Holy Spirit
    This conversation will liberate you.
Because the blood of Jesus is not powerless.
And your freedom is not optional.
    ๐Ÿ’ฌ Quote of the Episode
“I'm not opposed to the Church. I'm in love with the Church.
I'm opposed to the spirit of religious bondage that keeps people bound.”
    ๐Ÿ”‘ Key Takeaways
The spirit of religion keeps people performing instead of being transformed
You can love the Church and still confront what is not of God
Deliverance is not a fringe topic, it is part of the Gospel
The blood of Jesus is not a one-time concept, it is a continual invitation into deeper freedom
Many believers are being gaslit out of their healing and deliverance
The Holy Spirit is inviting you into deeper revelation, not suppression
    ๐Ÿ“– Scripture
    John 8:36
“So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.”
    ๐Ÿ™ Prayer Moment
    Father,
We repent for every place we partnered with limitation, fear, or religious mindset over truth.
We renounce every lie that told us we had to stay bound.
We break agreement with every belief rooted in the wisdom of man instead of the Spirit of God.
Holy Spirit, reveal what needs to be brought into the light.
Jesus, we lay it at Your feet.
    Teach us truth.
    Lead us into freedom.
    In Jesus’ name, Amen.
