Some serious and some unserious team lists for the first full round of trials, as coaches do their best to send the fantasy community into a panic. We try to work out whats relevant and whats not, and intern Sammy gives us the low down on the most important question on all our minds.. what exactly do sheep eat?

Round 1 of the Trials sees the Bulldogs (reserve grade), Cowboys, Dragons and Knights face off, with the latter 3 teams deciding to use the opportunity to test out combinations, get some miles in the legs, and decide on some final roster spots. The final episode of our early preseason series, the keeper possibles series sees us check out some less popular keeper options you may want to consider starting with, including a few elite gun WFBs and some former guns.

Episode 5 of the year sees us tackle the "keeper" level players, that is players that are more than 600k that we might be considering for our fantasy teams in 2026 - including popular captaincy selection Payne Haas and former rule number 1 Nathan Cleary.

As with the cheapies, the mid range also offers a variety of "possibles" options, where their range of outcomes is wide or their role uncertain, hence why they have landed in that spot. If you pick one of these players and they pop off, they are likely a great point of difference option. If they don't, you will find yourself trading them sooner rather than later. Can you pick the right one?
