But did the Adelaide Thunderbirds start the ongoing speculation about Shamera Sterling-Humphrey by bringing her replacement to Australia so early?The Giants upset the Thunderbirds, the Vixens continued their dominance in the Melbourne Derby, the Fever pinched a win late against the Lightning and the Swifts defeated the Firebirds to go eight points clear at the top of the ladder.The ANZ Premiership is also about to start in New Zealand and despite there being real concerns about the future of the competition, we are very excited to have it back. Gabi Simpson has been a last-minute surprise signing for the Central Pulse and she joins us to chat about her return to elite netball after spending more than a year out of the game.

    The curse is broken! After years of trying, the Swifts defeat the Thunderbirds at home in Adelaide. Shimona Jok celebrates her 100th national league game as the Mavericks get their first win over a despondent looking Giants side. And while we might have missed two SSN games over the weekend there was still plenty of netball action to enjoy. We chatted with NSW under 19s captain Nicola Barge on their Nationals win, as well as Aussie Kelpie Liam Killey on his Victorian sides win at the AMMNA nationals.

As once again, the competition broke crowd records in round one.Jamaican imports Romelda Aiken-George and Shamera Sterling-Humphrey were cleared to play for the Adelaide Thunderbirds after being under an injury cloud in the pre-season. Their team will need them if they’re to chase a historic three-peat. We do wonder what this means for Proteas defender Sanmarie Visser though? Would she have been better playing at home in the South African league? Plus, there is breaking news at the West Coast Fever about replacement shooter Mwai Kumwenda.Our interview this week is with new Queensland Firebirds import Imogen Allison after she made her debut down under.
