That changing the course of the world is actually in the American voter’s grasp. That if we turn out to vote against this Global elite of billionaires who will take everybody down just to have more for themselves, we can kickstart the reversal of the global fascist tide. We know they’re going to cheat. We know they’re going to try and steal it, but that doesn’t mean they’re going to succeed. In fact it’s up to us to make sure they don’t.

Indivisible’s Leah Greenberg reminds us that the powers that be want us to just give up. That they have done everything they can to disrupt the process of voting. To scare or discourage people out of voting. To make voting itself feel so uncertain that we forget we are still the ones with the power, and our power comes from our numbers. No Kings itself is a manifestation of those numbers, of our force and desire to show this country that we refuse to accept what’s happening. But No Kings is also about protecting the election and mobilizing for a post election response. It’s not just a rally this time. It’s hyper local voter turnout and, most importantly, a time to gather and train people for post election mobilization. As Leah says, what’s happening is “discouraging but it’s surmountable". It all comes down to the collective who will stop this authoritarian free fall.

In the past week, along with the horrendous Cornell 7, the news included: A man who jacked off to the woman next to him on a plane and United Airlines refused to deal with it, and made her go back to her seat. We discovered an LSU football player was found responsible for raping a girl, but the university lowered his accountability from suspension to probation in order to let him keep playing. A teenage boy was only given a restraining order after he stalked and stabbed a girl 10 times because she wouldn’t date him, and Vanderbilt University reported 50 cases of girls at the health center because of spiked drinks in the last week. The LAST WEEK ALONE. What the fuck are we doing America?!
