Episode 66: Feeling it All - Faith, Fury and the Call to Love

    28/1/2026 | 36 mins.
    Send us a text
In this episode of Spirit Outspoken, we sit with the emotional weight of what’s happening in Minneapolis and across the United States - and what it feels like to be human in this moment.
Many people are carrying justified anger, grief, fear, and exhaustion as they witness violence, injustice and misinformation.  Rather than bypassing these emotions, we begin by naming them-because Jesus never dismissed human pain.
From there, we turn to Scripture to explore how we are called to respond spiritually in times of division and unrest. What does it mean to follow Jesus without surrendering our humanity? How do we hold anger without becoming consumed by it? And how do we love our neighbors-on all sides-without excusing harm or injustice?
This episode reflects on Jesus’ response to suffering, righteous anger, and power, and explores what it looks like to choose compassion, truth, and love as forms of spiritual resistance. We discuss seeing the image of God in every person, resisting dehumanization, and staying spiritually grounded when emotions are high.
This conversation is for anyone who:
Feels angry, heartbroken, or overwhelmed by current events
Is struggling with polarization and division
Wants a Christ-centered response that doesn’t minimize injustice
Longs to stay human, faithful, and anchored in turbulent times

Episode 65: Created with Purpose - Faith and Astrology w/ Debra Silverman

    21/1/2026 | 1h 12 mins.

What if astrology wasn’t something to fear, but a tool for deeper self-understanding and compassion?
In this episode of Spirit Outspoken, we’re joined by Debra Silverman, a psychologist turned astrologer with decades of experience.
For many who were raised in the Christian faith, astrology was often framed as off-limits or incompatible with belief in God. Together, we gently reframe that narrative, exploring astrology not as something that replaces faith, but as a language of personality and design that can deepen empathy, self-awareness, and understanding of others.
Debra shares how her background in clinical psychology and soul-centered astrology work together, offering insight into emotional patterns, the four elements, and why we’re wired the way we are. We also discuss how understanding our own birth chart - and those of our children - can become a powerful tool for conscious parenting, relational compassion, and releasing unrealistic expectations.
This episode is thoughtful, grace-filled, and expansive, especially for anyone who still loves God but is re-examining what they were taught about spirituality, astrology, and self-discovery.
    In this episode, we explore:
Is astrology compatible with Christian faith?
Astrology as a tool for self-understanding, not prediction
Psychology, personality, and the four elements
How astrology can foster compassion instead of judgment
Using astrology as a lens for parenting and relationships
Trusting that God’s hand is present in every part of our design
Whether you’re skeptical, curious, or already exploring, this conversation invites you to approach astrology with openness, wisdom, and grace.

Episode 63: How Studying Buddhism Can Deepen a Jesus-Centered Faith w/ Zach Helton

What if faith wasn’t about having all the answers, but about staying curious?
In this episode of Spirit Outspoken, we’re joined by Zach Helton for an honest, expansive conversation about spirituality, curiosity, and what it means to follow Jesus without fear of exploration. Together, we unpack the pressure many Christians feel to have certainty and why releasing the need to “know it all” can actually deepen, not diminish faith.
Zach shares his personal experience studying Buddhism and how engaging another spiritual tradition unexpectedly enriched his spirituality and relationship with Jesus. We explore how learning from other religions doesn’t mean abandoning Christianity, but can cultivate greater presence, compassion, humility, and spiritual maturity.
This episode is for anyone navigating faith deconstruction, spiritual curiosity, or longing for a more embodied and expansive way of following Jesus - without shame, fear, or rigid dogma.
    In this episode, we discuss:
Why you don’t need all the answers to be a faithful Jesus follower
How spiritual curiosity can strengthen, not threaten, faith
Zach’s experience studying Buddhism and how it shaped his spirituality
Exploring other religions without losing your Christian foundation
Letting go of fear-based faith and embracing growth
If you’ve ever felt drawn to explore deeper questions, but were told curiosity was dangerous, this conversation is for you.

Whether or not you follow these systems, Chinese astrology and numerology can offer helpful insights and meaningful questions to guide your year. You don’t have to believe in these systems to benefit from them - they’re simply tools to encourage self-awareness, thoughtful reflection, and intentional living as we step into a new year.

In this episode of Spirit Outspoken, we explore the transition from the Year of the Snake to the Year of the Horse. Chinese astrology helps us understand the symbolic energy of the year, while numerology invites reflection on patterns and themes in our lives.
