What does it mean to place something on the altar of God? In the gospel of Jesus Christ, the symbolism of the altar appears throughout scripture—from ancient temple worship to our modern covenant discipleship. In this Anchor Point episode, we explore what it really means to place our challenges, desires, and even our will on the altar of the Lord and allow Him to sanctify both the offering and the offering giver.

Drawing from gospel principles familiar to members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, we discuss how the altar represents sacrifice, consecration, sanctification, and a broken heart and contrite spirit. • Choosing His peace over fear and insecurity

We don’t have to master it overnight. We look to Him by trying again. By lifting our eyes instead of lowering them. When insecurity whispers, the invitation is always the same: look up.

We do not look down to find Him.
We look up—to our Father.
