Doug Bailey - Choose to be Kind
In this episode of the Education Heroes Podcast, Paul is joined by Doug Bailey. A student-centred educator, Doug's passion is in cultural change and championing kindness and restorative practices. Over his extensive career, he has held the position as a Principal, Vice Principal, Head of School, Monash University educator, and most recently Head of Middle School. Doug is currently studying a Master's in Business Administration and Masters in Conflict Resolution, and lives by the maxim, in a world where you can choose to be anything, choose to be kind. A keen sportsman, Doug represented Victoria in both rowing and football before pursuing a professional career with the St Kilda football club. Since retiring from active participation, he has coached numerous sporting teams and is currently an AFL regional commissioner. Together with his wife, Maria, Doug has six children who are the inspiration for many humorous stories and the occasional cautionary tale!
