In this quick IQ episode, Brandy Gillmore shares how certain well-intentioned healing, spiritual, and self-help practices can sometimes create subtle subconscious conflict that works against the very transformation a person is trying to create.
Brandy explores how people may be working with their mind, spirituality, personal development, and new ideas about the body and healing, yet still feel stuck because some beliefs can unintentionally trigger fear, stress, or a sense that something is wrong inside the body.
For example, she explains the important distinction between feeling emotions in the body and believing negative emotions are literally "stored" or "trapped" inside of you. While emotions can absolutely show up in the body, the belief that something negative is trapped within can create a fear-based subconscious response that may work against the empowered emotional state that supports self-healing.
Brandy also shares why you do not need to "remove" stored emotions from the body in order to begin creating a shift. Instead, recognizing that emotions can change in the present moment can feel deeply empowering and can create a very different emotional response in the mind and body.
