Discussion:
In your own words, why does Jesus so often highlight His invitation to the poor, crippled, blind, and lame? What does that reveal about His character and His Gospel?
Which of the three excuses (property, vocation, family) are most likely to take priority over Jesus in your own heart? How can we help each other cultivate the correct order of our loves?
••Do you believe that the presence of Jesus is a joyful feast? Or are you tempted to see religion as a heavy burden? How does this passage help you see the real Jesus?
