In this interview, Andy Smith speaks with Julia and Eric Pickerill, planters of Vineyard Amsterdam and current Senior Pastors of Vineyard Columbus in Ohio, USA. They share their leadership journeys and reflect on the joys and challenges of church planting and succession, as well as the realities of living and parenting through those seasons.

On Saturday morning, Sian-Lee Ewan, Senior Pastor at Foyle Vineyard, spoke on the call to lead with creativity and courage; the call to see a future shaped by God’s vision and to lead others towards it; the call to breathe life into barren places; and the call to step from what has been into the new thing God is doing.

Julia Pickerill opens the Legacy conference speaking on a call to return to being childlike in our faith. Drawing from the beginning of Samuel’s life in 1 Samuel, Julia calls us to lay aside control, pick up dependency and embrace childlike curiosity.

Eric Pickerill closed the Legacy conference by speaking on our legacy and what it means to become a sage. Drawing from the life of Samuel in 1 Samuel 16, he explored the stages we move through to become wise and mature leaders. Moving from disappointment in people to a deep security in God’s love, learning to finish well and pouring into and releasing others.
