399. How to Find Rest for Your Soul (Even When Life Feels Heavy)
One of the greatest gifts God has been teaching me lately is this:
Life can be heavy without becoming unbearable.
This conversation came after one of those days where Stevie and I had a really hard conversation sitting in the middle of the lake…and then we surfed afterward. It felt strange at first, almost like we shouldn't be allowed to laugh after crying.
But maybe that's exactly what Jesus meant when He said His yoke is easy and His burden is light.
He doesn't always remove the hard thing.
He carries the weight of it with us.
If you've been carrying around tomorrow's worries, living under the weight of uncertainty, or feeling like your soul is just tired, I hope this episode reminds you that rest isn't the absence of burdens.
It's trusting that you don't have to carry them alone.
In this episode we talk about:
What "rest for your soul" actually means
Jesus' invitation to carry life's burdens differently
Holding grief and joy at the same time
Why fun isn't something you earn
Finding renewal in ordinary moments
Practical rhythms that help lighten your emotional load
The importance of creating beauty even in difficult seasons

398. Your Brain Needs a Summer Job (Or It'll Create One)
30/06/2026 | 18 mins.
Your brain was designed to solve problems.
But if you don't intentionally give it something meaningful to focus on, it will create problems where none need to exist.
In this episode, Dr. Edie Wadsworth shares why creating something beautiful—even during difficult seasons—can completely change the way you experience your life.
From knitting a sweater through hospital waiting rooms to planting tomatoes, learning new skills, and setting simple 90-day goals, this conversation is an invitation to stop letting your brain default to criticism and instead give it something life-giving to build.
If you've been overthinking, worrying, criticizing yourself, or feeling stuck, this episode is the gentle reset your mind may need.
Why your brain naturally looks for problems
How criticism becomes your brain's default when it lacks purpose
Why creating beauty is a powerful antidote to anxiety
The story behind Edie's beloved Frankie Sweater
Why 90-day goals work so well
Simple ideas to create a more magical summer
How to redirect your mind toward what matters most

397. Love as Your True Identity (Not Just Something You Do)

397. Love as Your True Identity (Not Just Something You Do)
One of the biggest misconceptions about personal growth is that it's all about becoming more productive, more successful, or more accomplished.
But what if the real goal is becoming more loving?
In this episode, I'm sharing a special teaching from inside Life Mentoring School about what it really means to live from your true self. When we begin receiving God's love instead of striving to earn it, everything changes—from the way we see ourselves to the way we show up in our relationships, our homes, and even the ordinary moments of everyday life.
We also talk about why love isn't pretending everything is okay. True love is willing to feel deeply, tell the truth, grieve honestly, and still hold onto hope.
I hope this conversation encourages you to slow down, soften your heart, and remember who you already are.
Why love is the highest expression of your true self
The difference between living from fear and living from love
How your "ordinary Tuesday" reveals what you're really practicing
Why vulnerability is essential for authentic love
Learning to create from desire instead of resentment
What it means to nurture the people and places God has entrusted to you
How to see beauty and hope even in difficult seasons

396. Build Your House of Joy: The Tiny Decisions That Create a Beautiful Life!
23/06/2026 | 17 mins.
A few years ago, I taught a podcast episode called How I Created My House of Joy. At the time, I had no idea that phrase would eventually become the name of this podcast—or the framework that would shape so much of what I teach.
Because here's what I've come to believe:
We're all building a house.
Not just the physical place where we live, but the life we're living inside of every day.
The question is: Are we building it on purpose?
In this episode, we're talking about the foundations that create the experience of your life—and how your thoughts, emotions, habits, and daily decisions are shaping your future whether you realize it or not.
If you've ever felt stuck, overwhelmed, disconnected, or disappointed with where you are, I hope this conversation reminds you that your story isn't finished. You can start rebuilding today.

395. 20 Ridiculous Hills We're Willing to Die On!
18/06/2026 | 43 mins.
This episode is completely unserious... and maybe our most controversial one yet.
Today we're sharing 20 ridiculous hills we're willing to die on—from overhead lights and matching hangers to fish, airport outfits, sunscreen, camping, butter, knitting, scary movies, and everything in between.
Some of these opinions are deeply held. Some are probably wrong. And some we may completely change our minds about next year.
But for today?
We said what we said.
Come laugh with us and then tell us the hills you're willing to die on.
