- Are you chasing a perfect cholesterol number but still not sure if you're actually protected from a heart attack? Have you heard that half the people who have a heart attack actually have normal cholesterol?
We cover:
The one risk factor with a 600% increased risk of heart disease in women (hint: it's not cholesterol, and most doctors never test for it)
Why half the people who show up with heart attacks have totally normal cholesterol
The metabolic health markers you can check at home today, no doctor needed
The 5-minute scan every woman should ask for by age 50
Why "healthy" athletic women can still be damaging their arteries
Dr. Philip Ovadia, MD, is a board-certified heart surgeon who became a leading advocate for metabolic health after confronting both his patients' outcomes and his own struggle with obesity and insulin resistance. With decades of surgical experience, he has witnessed firsthand the consequences of metabolic disease. Today, he focuses on prevention, education, and empowering individuals to reverse metabolic dysfunction before surgery becomes necessary. Gut Researcher Busts Gluten Myths and the Real Cause of Menopause Bloating - Jess Biesiekierskie, PhD
21/08/2026 | 1h 9 mins.Have you been struggling with gut issues for years, or suddenly have bloating, weird pain or digestive problems now that menopause is here? Are you one of those who cut out gluten hoping for relief, only to feel just as lousy (or worse)?
We cover:
Why your gut goes a little haywire in menopause, and why it has nothing to do with "just getting older"
The gluten truth that made me rethink everything I put in my mouth (most of us get this completely backwards)
How simply believing a food will hurt you can physically make it hurt you, and what that means for your power to change it
A free international study you can join from your couch if you're dealing with IBS
The one simple shift that beats probiotics and cutting out foods for a calmer gut
Associate Professor Jessica Biesiekierski is Head of Human Nutrition at the University of Melbourne and one of Australia's leading researchers in gut health, diet, and gut–brain interaction. Jess leads large international randomised controlled trials investigating how dietary and psychological interventions can improve gut conditions like Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS). Her work has been published in top journals including The Lancet, Gastroenterology, and The American Journal of Gastroenterology. She is internationally recognised for her research on non-coeliac gluten sensitivity, the low FODMAP diet, and how gut–brain mechanisms shape food-related symptoms. She currently leads the world-first head-to-head study comparing the low FODMAP diet with exposure-based cognitive behavioural therapy in people with IBS, recruiting across Australia and the USA.
Clinical trial — the Exclude or Expose Study in IBS — which is actively recruiting adults with IBS in both Australia and the USA.
The trial compares two leading, evidence-based IBS treatments head-to-head for the first time: the low FODMAP diet (an exclusion-based dietary approach) versus exposure-based cognitive behavioural therapy (which works by helping the brain respond differently to gut symptoms and feared foods).
Both are delivered entirely online over 12 weeks, free of charge, with one-on-one support from a dietitian or psychologist throughout. Many women experiencing gut symptoms around menopause may qualify.

17/08/2026 | 1h 5 mins.Have you ever asked your doctor to test your hormones, and were told there's no point because you're in perimenopause? Or maybe you started an estrogen patch, felt amazing for a week, and then suddenly felt worse and had no idea why?
We cover:
Why one blood test can show two completely opposite results in the same cycle (and why doctors stopped testing altogether)
The overlooked hormone that carries its own risks for your bones, brain and heart, independent of estrogen
The ketchup bottle effect: what's really happening when your symptoms suddenly flip
How to know if your HRT is actually absorbing, or just sitting on your skin
The timing mistake that can waste hundreds of dollars on comprehensive hormone tests like the DUTCH
Rose is the Clinical Manager at Mira, where she helps healthcare providers integrate at-home hormone monitoring into their clinical workflow. With over 10 years of experience as a fertility-awareness instructor trained in both the Marquette Method and the Sympto-Thermal Method, she has supported women using hormone monitoring across a wide range of situations, including regular and irregular cycles, postpartum amenorrhea, chemo-induced menopause, and perimenopause. Rose equips clinicians and fertility-awareness educators with the knowledge and confidence to interpret hormone patterns and apply them effectively in patient care.

Are you wondering why no one talks about pellets? And have you thought that if HRT is so breast protective, why do we need mammograms anymore?

How the pill disguises menopause
Why no one is talking about pellets
Are mammograms necessary if you are on HRT?

Biohacking Autism and Caregiver Burnout: When Staying Healthy Isn't Optional - Nadia Elkhatib
10/08/2026 | 1h 8 mins. Are you a mom who has put her own health on the back burner because someone else needs you more? Or maybe you're caring for a child with autism or an aging parent and have no idea where to even begin when it comes to your own wellbeing?
We cover:
What 21 years of caring for a child with autism actually taught one mom about the human body
Why caregivers are silently aging faster and what to do about it before it's too late
The biological layers underneath an autism diagnosis that most doctors never address
The specific blood labs that need to be optimized that could be the first domino for both you and your child
What really happens when you stop sacrificing your health and start treating yourself like a patient too
Nadia Elkhatib hosts Biohacking Autism, a weekly podcast bringing biohacking, peptides, and functional medicine to autism families. Nadia spent years working in Silicon Valley tech before her son Jimmy's autism diagnosis pulled her into a different kind of research entirely. For 19 years she has worked on the integrative side of autism: biomedical protocols and most recently hormone and thyroid optimization. After her own labs surfaced significant metabolic and hormonal dysfunction, she expanded her work into caregiver longevity, the recognition that her own healthspan is her son's safety net. Real solutions for people with autism and the ones who love them.
