Ciarahn Matoe is a former rugby player turned Police Officer. Having received a rugby scholarship to Kings College in Year 10, Ciarahn was set on the professional sports pathway from a young age. He then went on to play rugby for the New Zealand Under 20’s and the Taranaki Bulls. Now at 24, he is four years into pursuing a career in the police force.
The Hannahs chat with Ciarahn about the transition from playing sports professionally to working in the police, the transferable skills and heaps more!

This week the NETFIT Hannahs talk to one of the world’s best-known netballers and the most-capped player of all time, Irene Van Dyk.
Irene began her career in South Africa before moving to New Zealand in 2000 to become Silver Fern number 122. Having put up over 6,500 shots at 90% \ accuracy, Irene retired from international netball in 2014 after 20 years at the top of Netball. Irene now works as Netball New Zealand’s participation manager of youth and heads the Netball New Zealand Youth Board.
