- Join me and Dr. Abigail Donovan as we talk about her journey through psychiatry and child & adolescent psychiatric specialization! Abigail has her hands in a lot of cookie jars, working in the psychiatric unit of the emergency department as well as directing a psychosis-focused clinic at Mass General Brigham. We discuss what she does on the day-to-day, why she loves her work, and how she landed on psychiatry after saying "no" initially.
- Join me and Dr. Gabe Lipshutz, an interventional radiologist who recently left academic medicine and started his very own private practice! Dr. Lipshutz is a wonderful fellow Wesleyan alum. We talk about his unexpected career change into medicine, how he chose radiology, and what factors affect your medical specialty and training.
- Join me and Dr. Laura Fralich, a double-board-certified Family Medicine and Sports Medicine physician who currently runs her own private practice out of Spokane, Washington! Dr. Fralich and I discuss what drove her to sports medicine, her non-traditional medical school path, and what makes a great physician.
- Join me and Dr. Kaylee Spano, who just finished her intern (1st) year of General Pediatrics Residency! Congratulations! Kaylee and I talk about some of the logistics around residency years and schedules, and we dive into what drove her to pediatrics and what she's hoping to sub-specialize in after residency. We also talk about medical education, research, and other ways we explore what the right niche is for us!
- Join me and Dr. Ariela Marshall, MD, in talking about her somewhat unconventional journey through specialty decisions and current roles! Dr. Marshall spent most of her career, through the end of residency, set on becoming an oncologist before starting her hematology/oncology combined fellowship and discovering her excitement for acute hematologic care. She is also a physician educator and director of her medical center's fellowship program, as well as an advocate for equity among female and male physicians! We discuss her path through medicine and how to make decisions about the way you want to interact with patients, along with having a combination of roles and interests in your career as a physician.
