Martine Cohen didn't set out to rethink her relationship with rest. Instead, a serious car accident and concussion forced the issue, stopping her in her tracks until she had no choice but to listen to her body in a way she'd ignored for years. She's since built her work, including her book No More Layers, around exactly that: understanding why we override our own needs, and how to stop. In this episode, Martine and Wendy explore:
Why perfectionism isn't a personality trait but a safety mechanism the brain built to avoid rejection, and why that mechanism can never actually be satisfied
The small, consistent rituals Martine uses to reset her nervous system daily, and why tiny, repeated habits do more than one big gesture ever could
Why so many women only give themselves permission to ask for help when something has gone wrong, and never when things are going well
Martine's approach isn't about overhauling your whole life overnight. It's about noticing the habits you already have, deciding which ones are actually serving you, and building new ones in their place, one small, repeatable choice at a time.

Chelsea Ann was married to a man whose company sold for nearly a billion dollars. Homes across the world, nannies, staff, every material thing money could buy. Then came a prayer at the base of the Dalai Lama's temple, and nine months later she found herself at the Great Pyramid, hearing from a man who told her she'd spend her life teaching women something else entirely: how to return to their own nature.
In this episode, Chelsea Ann and Wendy explore:
What it actually looked like to walk away from a life of extreme wealth instead of toward one, and why she never expected the prayer to actually be answered
The gap she kept finding in how women are taught, or not taught, to become mothers, and why she wrote her first two books to fill it
How her work as a menopause practitioner and her spiritual teaching intersect, and why she believes "returning to a woman's nature" is an actual practice, not just a metaphor
Chelsea Ann's story isn't a rags-to-riches arc, or even a riches-to-rags one. It's what happens when someone decides the life everyone else is chasing isn't the one she wants, even without a clear picture of what comes next.

Susanne Eden turned 60 and thought her life was over. She could barely get out of a chair, was on 200 units of insulin a day, and had spent years on prednisone that had quietly wrecked her endocrine system. Now 87, she's the author of Healing from the Inside, Living Fully As You Age.
Susanne and Wendy explore:
What actually changed when she stopped waiting for a doctor to hand her the answer and started experimenting with holistic and energy-based healing instead
Why she believes health, aging, and self-worth are impossible to separate, and how trying to treat them individually is where so many people get stuck
The recent loss of a close friend, and the recorded conversation they shared in her friend's final months that became part of a new project called Conversations with Susanne
Susanne's story isn't about reversing a diagnosis or finding a miracle fix. It's about what happens when someone finally stops outsourcing the answer and starts paying attention to what her own body and mind were trying to tell her all along.

Kathryn Henry spent a decade beside her wife through a grueling cancer battle, walking away from her corporate career to be fully present for it. After her wife passed, small, inexplicable things like dimes, turning up in impossible places, became something she couldn't write off as coincidence. That became the title of her memoir, A Dime to Say I Love You.
They explore:
What happened on a rain-soaked mountain trail in Japan that turned a moment of "what did I get myself into" into the clarity to finish writing the book
The difference between knowing something intellectually and knowing it in every cell of your body, and why only one of those actually changes how you live
How childhood trauma decades earlier shaped the spiritual practice she now leans on to process both grief and reinvention
Kathryn's story isn't about grief resolving into peace on a tidy timeline. It's about learning to recognize the signs that were there all along, and letting them pull you forward instead of trying to explain them away.

Riana Malia works as what she calls an identity architect for high-achieving women, helping them clear the old subconscious patterns running the show long before anyone notices, so they can actually build the life they're reaching for instead of quietly recreating the one they already have. She and Wendy walk through the exact tool she hands her private clients to do it: two lists, a rubber band, and 72 hours.
They explore:
Why old patterns keep sabotaging results years after the moment that created them, and how that "residue" gets stored in the body at a cellular level, not just the mind
The real-time example from Riana's own life (a business relationship blowing up the morning of this interview) and the difference between treating it as something happening to her versus something happening for her
How the 72-hour rubber band practice works step by step, and why three days is enough to start building a new neural pathway instead of reinforcing the old one
Riana's work isn't about excavating the old story to explain why someone feels stuck. It's about clearing the pattern out of the body first, then giving the mind something new and specific to build toward in love, in money, in work, in whatever's next.
