In this episode, Wendy sits down with therapist Jessica Fern and restorative relationship practitioner David Cooley to examine how shame shapes the way we relate to ourselves and the people closest to us. They introduce the “inner shame triangle”: an inner critic that attacks, a shame part that absorbs and believes the criticism, and escaper parts that try to outrun it through over-functioning, under-functioning, busyness, or numbing. The conversation becomes deeply personal as Wendy reflects on her divorce and Jessica and David share how they ended their marriage, continued co-parenting, and created a new relationship structure that better meets their family’s needs.
They explore:
How the inner critic, shame, and escaper parts reinforce one another and show up during relationship conflict
Why willingness and capacity are both necessary for couples who want to grow together
What it means to measure a relationship’s success by whether people’s needs are being met, not simply by how long it lasts
This is a conversation about recognizing the internal patterns influencing your relationships, responding to yourself with greater compassion, and allowing relationships to evolve when the old configuration no longer works.

In this bonus mini episode, Wendy shares how a series of small, aligned yeses led to unexpected friendships, collaborations, and opportunities across France. From meeting Chef Eric in Normandy to expanding her work with Jessica Hickman-Woolcott and the Cognac Jewellery School, none of it arrived through a perfectly mapped-out plan. It unfolded one decision and one connection at a time.
Wendy also shares how she recognizes her next right step, why she doesn’t need to see the entire path before moving forward, and the practices that help her distinguish intuition from resistance.
You don’t have to know exactly how everything will work. You can quiet the noise, trust your own knowing, and take the next logical step.

In this episode, Wendy sits down with author and educator Thymai Dong-Sheehan to talk about identity, belonging, and the courage to tell your own story. Born in Vietnam and raised in the United States, Thymai grew up navigating two cultures while never feeling fully claimed by either. Years later, stepping away from her career to care for family left her grieving the loss of her worker identity, but it also gave her the space to pursue two dreams she had been saving for retirement: publishing The Beauties of My So-Called Asian Life and starting her own business. What emerged was an honest examination of the stories told about her, the parts of herself she had learned to minimize, and what it meant to finally decide that her experiences were valid and worth sharing.
They explore:
How Thymai moved from feeling caught between Vietnamese and American identities to embracing the full complexity of who she is
Why releasing the need to prove she belonged required vulnerability, spirituality, community, and self-forgiveness
How losing confidence after leaving her career led Thymai back to the inner work behind her larger vision for educational change
This is a conversation about claiming the right to tell your own story, allowing every part of your identity to belong, and trusting what can emerge when an unexpected pause creates room for something new.

Carrie Fabris is a Gallup Certified Strengths Coach and the founder of CareerFrame, where she works with leaders and teams on the kind of self-awareness that actually changes how people show up at work. She's also a self-described activator — someone wired to move fast, act now, and figure out the rest later. Lately, life's been asking her to do the opposite: pause, observe, and trust that the timing isn't hers to control. In this episode, Carrie and Wendy explore:
Why Carrie has learned to trust a slower pace and pay attention before reacting
What it actually took to leave a stable job with zero clients lined up, simply because staying didn't feel right anymore
The difference between forcing an outcome and taking inspired action, then trusting the timing to work itself out
Carrie's story isn't about having a plan for everything. It's about learning that the how isn't always yours to control, and that the action you take matters more than having it all figured out first.

Sonya Weisshappel calls herself the Chaos Whisperer, and her business card should probably read more like a dictionary than a title — she helps people move through major life transitions by starting with what's actually around them, whether that's a friend circle that no longer fits or a lifetime of inherited belongings nobody's touched since a loved one died.
In this episode, Sonya and Wendy explore:
Why it's okay to let go of relationships that used to be a match and no longer are, and how to trust that shift without needing to explain it
The disconnect Sonya sees constantly between what someone says they want and what their actual physical surroundings are set up to support
How organizing a closet, a junk drawer, or a lifetime of inherited belongings is rarely just about the stuff, and why the physical work often opens a side door into grief that talk therapy alone doesn't always reach
Sonya's approach isn't about decluttering, or networking, for their own sake. It's about recognizing that your surroundings — people included — should actually reflect what you want now, not just what you've always had.
