A lot of people want to believe in intuition, right up until it starts giving them information they cannot explain. That’s why this conversation with Gemma Reid hit so deeply for us. Gemma is a therapist with a master’s degree in social work and more than 20 years in mental health, and she also describes herself as an “accidental medium” who began sensing spirit while supporting people through grief and difficult life transitions.

Gemma Reid holds a Master’s degree in Social Work and spent more than 20 years working in the mental health profession, supporting people through some of life’s most difficult experiences. Her professional career was grounded in psychology, compassion, and a deep understanding of the human experience.
But alongside her work in mental health, Gemma began experiencing something she couldn’t easily explain.
More than 20 years ago, she began experiencing spiritual phenomena and paranormal activity that challenged her understanding of what was possible. Over time, these experiences became part of a much larger journey of discovery.
As an adoptee, Gemma was also searching for answers about her own identity and where she came from. Following the death of her biological father, she began developing what she describes as a profound relationship with him in spirit. Through a series of unexpected signs, synchronicities, and spiritual experiences, Gemma found herself being guided toward the family she had spent much of her life searching for.
That journey ultimately led her to connect with biological family members across Ontario and eventually travel to Ireland, where she met her father’s siblings and discovered more about the family and heritage that had always been missing from her story.
Along the way, Gemma joined a spiritual church and began formally developing her abilities as a medium. What began as unexpected spiritual experiences gradually evolved into a professional calling. Today, Gemma is a professional medium who combines her background in mental health with her personal experiences, intuition, and spiritual development to connect with others in a compassionate and grounded way.
Gemma shares her work with a growing online community through TikTok LIVE, where she offers mediumship, conversation, and spiritual insight to audiences around the world. She is passionate about helping people navigate grief, find hope, explore their own intuition, and recognize the meaningful connections that can emerge through love, loss, and life’s unexpected twists.
She has also completed the manuscript for her memoir, which chronicles her extraordinary journey as an adoptee, her search for her Irish family, and the spiritual experiences that transformed the course of her life.
At the heart of Gemma’s story is a simple belief: sometimes the journey to find where you come from leads you to discover who you were meant to become.
