  • 🎈 The First Year | Beautiful Baby Book | Storytime for Kids
Hello, little bookworms! 📚💖 In today’s episode of the Little Bookworm Podcast, we’re reading “The First Year” a stunning children’s book about the magic of a baby’s first year, written by Emilie Tunstill and illustrated by Elle Dawson-Scott. This book is a beautiful keepsake, with a touching story about the adventures a mama and bub have together in the first year – the highs, lows and everything in between. Following their journey from birth to first birthday, it highlights the special bond between a mother and her new baby. Key Themes: 🌻 For mums: You’re a super mum, no matter the challenges. 🌻 For babies: The bond between you and your mum is pure and magical. 🌻 Celebrate those precious moments and milestones. 📺 Watch the YouTube Video HERE 📘 Buy the Book! https://thetunstilltales.com.au/products/the-first-year-keepsake-childrens-book ✍️ About the Author Hello! I’m Emilie Tunstill, a mama-of-two and author from Adelaide, South Australia. I’ve always had a passion for writing. But there’s nothing quite like having two young children to bring out your inner child, creativity and imagination. So, in 2023 I took my first steps in pursuit of my dream to become a published author. And now, that dream has become a reality, with my debut picture book – The First Year – released in August 2024. 🎨 About the Illustrator It was an absolute pleasure collaborating with fellow Adelaide mama and artist Elle Dawson-Scott, who brought my carefully chosen words to life with the most beautiful illustrations. Elle is a mama, step-mother, pun-enthusiast, op-shop addict, artist, illustrator, and photographer from South Australia. She is a multi-talented artist, who does everything from portraits and freelance illustration work, to running art workshops for corporate and private events, to painting giant murals around the city. Elle and I worked incredibly closely on developing the illustrations and it was one of the highlights of my publishing journey – I had fairly strong ideas before we started of what I wanted on each page, and gave her a pretty detailed brief for every image, and then somehow she captured all I wanted, as well as bringing in her own ideas and perspectives, that made it 100 times better than I was imagining in the first place. 🌈 More from Georgie: Follow The Little Bookworm Podcast on Instagram: @thelittlebookwormpodcast Find out more about Georgie: @thetambourinesocial Listen to Georgie's children's music: Spotify 💖 Support Georgie's Work: If you’d like to support Georgie’s work in creating joyful, ad-free content for little listeners, you can become a supporter ⭐️ here ⭐️.
