116: Debt Detriments
If you're in debt, this week's episode of The Money Love Podcast is for you. I'm breaking down nine debt detriments that I see most when helping the women in my community get out of debt and stay out of debt for good. These are nine mindsets, emotional states, and tactical mistakes that I see you making that are keeping you in debt longer and are making your debt payoff journey unproductive and feel like a beating. This is an episode that you aboslutely will not want to miss if you're in debt. Also, make sure to save your spot and register for my completely free online workshop called Unburdened about how to release the mental, emotional, and financial weight of your debt. What are the primary emotions that come up around my debt? What beliefs around my debt are creating those emotions? What am I making it mean about me and my worthiness that I have debt? What are three things I love about myself that have nothing to do with my debt? Why am I choosing to unnecessarily punish myself for the debt? What am I hoping that will solve? How is that not productive to becoming debt free? What emotions do I feel like I don’t deserve to feel until I’m debt free? How can I create those emotions for myself now while still being in debt? What’s one thing I can do this week that will get me closer to my goal of becoming debt free? What valuable lessons will paying off my debt teach me? How will I become a better version of myself throughout this process? How can I make my debt payoff journey feel more calm, light, and enjoyable? If my debt disappeared overnight, what would still be the exact same about my life tomorrow? What advice would my future self who is debt free give me in this moment? 115: YNAB: The Money Method that Changed My Life with Ashley Lapato of The Organized Wallet
It's no secret that I am a huge fan on the money managagement software, YNAB (You Need A Budget). I've used the software for years and it has been the single most impactful tool in transforming my finances for the better. But it's so much more than just a budgeting software. YNAB is a money management method that is govered by 4 simple yet impactful rules to guide the decisions you make with money. I couldn't be more excited this week to dive into all things YNAB with none other than YNAB's personal finance educator, Ashley Lapato. Ashley spent years believing that she was just “bad with money” before finding YNAB, and she is now on a mission to teach others that money management is a skill - one that is never too late to learn. Ashley has earned a reputation on TikTok @TheOrganizedWallet for a refreshingly relatable approach to personal finance, which has helped hundreds of thousands learn to organize their finances and spend with confidence. In this episode together we break down what YNAB is, what makes it different from other money management systems, the 4 rules that govern the YNAB method, "little treat culture" that is taking over social media by storm, and we address the reservations you might have about trying YNAB to manage your money. 114: Feel Harder, Suffer Less
Are you feeling? Or are you suffering? Most of us think that we are feeling our feelings, when in fact we are resisting our feelings which creates uncessary suffering for ourselves. When we lack the ability and the willingness to feel our emotions, we end up just creating more of it for ourselves. But what if your feelings weren't something to run away from, but rather something to run towards? What if they weren't an inconvenience, but rather a superpower? What if they weren't a hindrence, but rather the ticket to getting everything you've ever wanted? The harder we feel, the less we suffer. In this week's episode of The Money Love Podcast we are diving into one of my favorite topics, emotions. We're talking about the difference between feeling and suffering, why we create unnecessary suffering for ourselves, how to stop doing that, and how to shift our mindset around our emotions so that they are something that we begin to embrace rather than avoid. This will no doubt be an episode that will challenge you and have you thinking about your feelings in an entirely new light. Enjoy! Questions from episode: Am I feeling or am I suffering? What emotion am I not feeling and what other emotions is that avoidance creating? How am I creating unnecessary suffering in my life right now? Do I want to sit with the truth of my life right now, or do I want to escape my life? What's the one emotion I most fear and how would my life look drastically different if I ran towards that emotion and created it on purpose? Do I have the money for it? Am I trying to cope, or buy something that can’t be bought? Am I winning on the value exchange? Am I going to get more value out of this than what I’m going to pay for it? Is my future self going to be glad I made this purchase? Am I evaluating (is no even a possible outcome)? Or am I just trying to justify a spending choice I know isn’t in my best interest?
