My very first hires and why starting small was the best move

Why contractors and freelancers can save you stress (and $$)
How to create simple SOPs so your team members actually succeed
The #1 question to ask yourself before committing to an office or warehouse

130. Why Most e-Commerce brands stall at $10K months (and how to move past it)
If you’ve hit $10K months but can’t seem to grow beyond it, this episode is for you.
It’s one of the most common plateaus I see as an e-commerce coach, and today I’m breaking down exactly why it happens (spoiler: it’s not just about working harder) and how to move past it with clarity and confidence.
This isn’t theory. It’s based on real conversations with clients, my own journey scaling and selling a fashion brand, and the patterns I see every week inside my mastermind.
Inside this episode, I’ll walk you through:
The hero product blind spot that keeps you stuck in “creating mode” instead of scaling
Why under-spending on proven ads might be the real reason your growth has stalled
The surprising cost of doing everything yourself and how to start stepping into your CEO role
What happens when you don’t have a clear end goal (and how to fix it fast)
Whether you’re still figuring out your bestsellers or already seeing results but can’t scale further, this episode will help you spot where the real bottlenecks are and what to do next.

129. Capturing content for your product-based brand that convert - with Sandra Chau
So often, I hear from founders who feel frustrated that their products just aren’t selling the way they’d hoped, even though they know the product itself is great. And more often than not, the missing piece isn’t the product at all, it’s the content of the visuals.
Because visuals are more than “pretty pictures.” The right content tells a story, shows your product in context, and makes it easy for your customer to imagine themselves using it. That’s what builds trust and gets someone to click “add to cart.”
To explore this, I sat down with stylist and creative director Sandra Chau. Sandra began her career as a lawyer, then moved into the wedding industry, and eventually found her true calling in brand styling. Today, she’s based in Sydney and works with e-commerce brands across the world, from luxury bedding to minimalist swimwear, helping them create visuals with intention, clarity and selling power.
In this episode, Sandra and I chat about:
Why the content of your visuals matters more than the aesthetic alone
How lifestyle-driven imagery helps your customer connect and feel confident to buy
The mistakes founders often make with product photography, and how to fix them
What brands like Nimble Activewear and DISSH are doing right with their visuals
Simple, practical ways to start creating content-rich imagery that resonates with your audience and converts
Sandra’s approach is about clarity, not complication. You don’t need a huge budget or endless photoshoots. You need visuals with a clear story, created intentionally for your customer, so they do the heavy lifting in your marketing.
If you’ve ever felt like your photos “look nice” but don’t seem to move the needle, this episode will show you how to rethink your visuals as strategic content that actually sells.
