  • The Casey Catch Up with Mizo Fernando | Surf Foiling, Paddling and Pumping it all adds up to DW Foil
I've admired Mizo's foiling for the best part of 5 years, to get him on the podcast was awesome. He is a passionate downwind foiler, just does not always get the conditions, hence why we always see him surf foiling. We break down what it takes to learn to downwind foil, hear a few epic adventures that Mizo has embarked upon and discuss injuries and how they help us grow as a person. It was a pleasure having Mizo on the podcast and our values aligned so much I invited him to help me coach on my online platform, the Coach Casey Club. if you want to be coached by Mizo, myself and a range of other super talented foilers check out this link to sign up https://caseyaus.com/coach-casey-club/

  • The Casey Catch Up with Fred Bonnef | The best DW foil race St Tropez, a Madeira Adventure plus more
Fred is a truly inspirational character and one who is passionate about downwind foiling. From sailing as a kid to becoming a windsurf legend and SUP pioneer it is what he has overcome that is truly inspiring. Nearly losing his leg in a horrible car crash was a watershed moment for Fred. He turned to event organising to help keep him busy whilst his body healed and has organised some of the best downwind events in the world. Getting into SUP Foiling was natural progression from both the organising and competing sense. He learnt to downwind foil with his disability showing others how it can be done in his home town. He has done M2O in 2023 and 2024 and since our chat was the first to foil from Europe to Africa across one of the busiest shipping channels in the world. It was an absolute pleasure to catch up with Fred and I hope you can be as inspired as I am when listening along to what he has to say. • The Casey Catch Up | with Edo Tanas the M2M, M2O and Koa Kai Triple Crown Champion
This podcast has been a long time coming. I've always had a lot of respect for Edo. A good kid who is passionate and dedicated to hone his downwind foiling. He joined the Coach Casey Club in early 2023 to hone his paddle up and downwind foil technique, by the time I met him in person he was a force to be reckoned with. In this podcast we go through Edo's background, starting in Italy and now in Hawaii, it is an interesting story. To then how he got into downwind foiling and the Hawaiian races in 2023 and 2024. We discuss what he changed training, equipment and mindset wise in a year to get to the top of the podium. We then open it up a bit and go brainstorm mode, discussing the M2O course change, downwind foil race formats and the future of the sport. All in all I thoroughly enjoyed the chat with Edo and I hope you do too.
