Cracking The Man Code: Unlock The Mystery of How Men Think, Love & Communicate - Interview with Mat Boggs
01/08/2026 | 56 mins.Send us Fan Mail
Relationships can be one of the most rewarding parts of life... but they can also be one of the most confusing, especially in midlife.
Many women tell us they feel like the man they love has changed. He's become quieter, more distant, or harder to connect with. At the same time, many men say they don't even recognise themselves anymore.
So what's really going on?
In today's episode, we're joined by one of the world's leading relationship coaches and author of Cracking The Man Code, Mat Boggs, to unpack what's happening beneath the surface. We explore what women often misunderstand about men, why so many men seem to pull away in midlife, what they're actually craving in a relationship, and the communication tools that can help create deeper connection.
Whether you're in a long-term relationship or dating again in midlife, this is a practical conversation packed with insights and simple takeaways you can start using straight away.

In this episode we’re discussing whether there’s a midlife moment going on?
When we launched The Midlife Mentors podcast back in 2019, people told us using the term midlife was a bad idea as no one liked it. Midlife wasn't a fashionable subject. It was something people associated with crisis, decline or simply getting older, not a stage of life people actively wanted to talk about.
Fast forward to today and it feels like midlife is everywhere. From menopause and longevity to healthspan, hormones and even how employers think about an ageing workforce, something has definitely shifted.
So is this just a moment in the spotlight? Or are we witnessing the beginning of a genuine reinvention of the way we view midlife that's changing what we think is possible? And what exciting things might come next?

Money affects almost every area of our lives, yet it's one of the subjects many of us feel least confident talking about.
And yet - in midlife, when we're thinking about retirement, career changes, caring for ageing parents, or simply creating more freedom and security, understanding our finances has never been more important.
Today's guest is Alex Theis. After an 18-year career in finance and investment banking, Alex combined her financial expertise with coaching to help women build confidence with money, challenge limiting beliefs, and make investing and financial planning feel far less overwhelming.
Through her work and her 'Women Can Finance' community, she's on a mission to make financial wellbeing accessible, empowering and, dare we say it, even enjoyable.
In this conversation, we explore why so many women lack confidence around money, how our childhood experiences shape our financial habits, the psychology behind spending and debt, practical first steps to growing wealth, and why taking control of your finances isn't just about money - it's about creating more choice, confidence and freedom in every area of your life.

Five years ago, the world looked very different.
We were navigating a global pandemic, rebuilding our business, and trying to make sense of an uncertain future. Like so many people, we had no idea what the next few years would bring.
If we could go back and sit down with our younger selves, knowing everything we know now, what would we say?
In this episode, we're sharing the lessons we wish we'd learned sooner - from trusting ourselves instead of the noise around us, to realising that healing is often more important than discipline, and why relationships, faith, rest and taking time to pause have become some of the greatest priorities in our lives.
Whether you're navigating change, questioning what's next, or simply wondering if you're on the right path, we hope this conversation encourages you to reflect on your own journey - and perhaps helps you learn a few things from our hindsight rather than having to learn them all the hard way.

Today we're discussing How To Thrive In A World We Weren't Made For.
We're living in the safest, most technologically advanced time in human history... so why do so many of us feel stressed, anxious and mentally exhausted?
According to neuroscientist and author of The Evolving Brain Dr Paul Goldsmith, it's because we're trying to navigate a twenty-first century lives with a brain that's evolved for a completely different world.
Rather than beating ourselves up, what if we understood that the problem isn't that we're weak or failing - it's that our ancient survival wiring is trying to cope with a modern world it was never designed for.
In this fascinating conversation, we explore why your brain is wired the way it is, why social media, AI and modern work are pushing it to its limits, and the surprisingly simple things you can do to work with your brain instead of against it.
If you've ever wondered why your mind won't switch off, why you feel constantly "on", or why life can feel so overwhelming despite living in an age of unprecedented convenience, this episode will help make sense of it all.
