    210. We're Taking a Break…

    This one's a little different, so we're just going to say it straight:
    We're taking a break from the podcast. Not because anything is wrong, and not because we've run out of things to say, but because after six years of showing up every week, we're listening to our own advice and making space for what's next. There are other things we love that need our energy right now, like growing the studio, speaking, writing, traveling, and honestly just taking a breath – and this podcast, which started during COVID as a way to connect, has been one of the most meaningful parts of our journey. So this isn't a goodbye, it's a pause. We're still here, still building, still together… just stepping away from the mic for now.
     
    3 reminders when it's time to pause and reset:
    Knowing when to pause is part of being powerful. Growth isn't always about doing more, it's about recognizing when it's time to step back, take inventory, and make space for what's next.

    You can evolve without ending everything. This isn't a goodbye, it's a shift. You're allowed to change direction while still honoring what you've built.

    Community doesn't disappear just because things change. Connection can take different forms. The relationships, impact, and conversations don't end here… they just continue in new ways!

    209. When to Lock In & When to Rest | The Truth About Working Out Smarter

    This week we're talking about something that sounds simple but is actually one of the hardest things to figure out in wellness: when to lock in and push… and when to pull back and rest. We get into biorhythms (why Liz will never be a 5 a.m. workout person), why more exercise isn't always better, and how to challenge your body without burning it out. We also talk about the difference between movement and workouts, why sweating buckets doesn't automatically mean you had a great workout, and why every day should really be a core day. And of course, we go a little deeper into body image, the pressure for women to "shrink," and why strength, joy, and loving what you do are the real reasons to move your body in the first place.
     
    3 reminders for working out smarter (not just harder):
    Your body has a rhythm – listen to it. Some people thrive at 6am. Others (like Liz) are mid-morning movers. The key is figuring out when your body actually performs best and working with that rhythm instead of constantly fighting it.

    More exercise isn't always better. If you're working out intensely for hours every day, you might actually be doing too much. Most people need less than 60 minutes of intentional movement to get an incredibly effective workout.

    Fitness shouldn't be about making yourself smaller. It should be about becoming stronger, healthier, and more capable in the body you already have.

    Respect is the real baseline. Intensity is exciting. Consistency is comforting. But without respect, neither one holds. Love without respect doesn't last.

    Speak from love, not accusation. Hard conversations are inevitable. Defensiveness is optional. Lead with "I'm struggling" instead of "You never." Move your body together. Lower the pressure. Sometimes breakthroughs come after laughter, not confrontation.

    Keep a dash of crazy. Grand gestures are great. Daily small touches matter more. Plan the dinner. Drop the expectations. Twerk in the kitchen. Low expectations + real affection = longevity.
