Sometimes when bad things happen to us as a result of our choices, some asshole hits us with the, “well, you did this to yourself.” No shit, Sherlock. Just because our choices led to less than desirable outcomes, doesn’t mean we can’t feel bad about it. Shaming anyone for the things they did or didn’t do won’t rewrite the past, and it certainly doesn’t make them feel better. Shaming someone like that only makes them hate you.
