Shaun Singh is the founder and CEO of Death to Stock (DTS), a visual production and licensing platform. DTS operates as a continuous production engine, releasing 400–500 new images each month, informed by an in-house cultural research team.
Each image is produced as a cultural signal, something brands can license and deploy immediately to stay current, rather than relying on static libraries or delayed interpretation.
Based in Auckland, Shaun built DTS into a global company working across Berlin, New York, London, LA, Tokyo, and Paris. His work focuses on how visual culture moves ahead of language, and how taste, timing, and direction are becoming the real advantage in an AI-driven landscape.
We discuss:
· How he accidentally started a global production + taste system built around cultural timing
· The role algorithms play in the erosion of personal style
· Where AI is helping independent creatives, and where it might be hurting them
